= $95 = Viridian Serac 6-24x50 (30mm tube) - Natchez Tax Refund Sale

I think everyone should check their scopes for windage/elevation.

I am planning to repeat 100 yard turret box test tomorrow with #2.
UPDATE: Got to the 100 yard shooting spot and it was already taken so only got to do 50 yard turret box test for Serac #2 but instead of 24 clicks, I doubled to 48 clicks for same three inch movement of crosshair.

It was another windy day and while the 100 yard shooting spot hugs 150' trees and provides some buffering from wind, the 50 yard shooting spot was completely open and was pushing holes on target all over the place.

I tried to shoot between gusts with Aguila 40 gr CPRN (30EK27 Aguila Prime) and looks like Serac #2 tracks more square than #1 but it was not dropped. ;) I tried to resume my 47 brands/weights/lots comparison but wind picked up even more and after shooting one target, I packed up. (Will repeat turret box test at 100 yards when I can get a calm shooting day).

Good shooting, and good update!

What were you shooting those groups with?

Sorry, I meant which firearm.
10/22 with KSA 16.5" bull barrel that has produced sub 1/2" groups at 50 yards without wind gusts. (I have Green Mountain 18" bull barrel on order for T/CR22 and will post groups) https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nition-comparison.908102/page-2#post-12898061

I like the bolt handle on your Savage.

Thanks! It's what came on the FVSR model of the MK II.

If it ran 100%, I'd highly recommend the rifle. Though as has been said, the stock is not great, and I'd actually rather have an 18" barrel. But those are things I can overlook. The magazines aren't awesome either. But for the price of the rifle, you do get a lot.

I'm curious to see how the Serac preforms on it.

I have 2 mk2's. One is a pre accu-trigger. And one with. They are nice rifles for the money. There was a Savage 17HMR at Walmart with the Boydes laminate stock. It had the bolt like yours. I saw it there the 1st time. Passed on it. It was eating at me. So went back to buy it. But something told m not to. Im a strong believer in going by gut instinct.

I like to work on something i buy used. I also like doing upgrades. I been on a trigger group improvement thing lately. I saved a lot of money buying a 200 spring assortment from Harbor freight for 5 bucks. If a spring fails no biggie to replace it.

Yeah those spring kits are nice to have, mine is smaller got it from HD. Amazing what just swapping some springs can do...... Course once you drop the pull weight, you can feel all the grit in the trigger and that requires polishing......
