Hello. I got mine today, headed for the range fifteen minutes later...
I had a bunch of loads ready for .45 Colt and .41 Magnum, so, handguns.
It's small, very small, much smaller than I thought it would be from photos. The battery was more than half charged when I got it. I updated the firmware with the phone app, fast and easy. I plugged it into a power bank on the way to the range, but it probably wasn't necessary. Now, the reason I got it is because at my range, setting up a Chrony is a big hassle, frowned upon and nearly impossible. No such problem with the Xero. I just sold my MagnetoSpeed and my Chrony will be for sale soon. The included mini tripod is probably meant for use with a rifle, from a table or prone. I used a slightly longer tripod, maybe twelve inches high or so, no problem. In fact, The Xero recorded my 71 shots without missing even one! Try that with a Chrony... Tomorrow morning I will try it with my 586 and Detective Special. I also have rifles and will first test it with a .32-20. The big advantage compared to the MagnetoSpeed is that the Xero doesn't care about what you have mounted on your barrel, like a suppressor. There are also zero risks shooting it like a Chrony in front of the weapon. Honestly, it's exceptional, and I rarely employ that term...
What I would have liked... A way to determine when the battery is fully charged without turning it on. Come on Garmin, at that price you can't add a charge indicator LED? The energy calculation isn't of much use to me, as I don't consider it to be a reliable indication of terminal performance. I much prefer the Taylor-Knock-Out (TKO) formula: (caliber x weight x fps) / 7000, ex: (.452 x 285 x 850) / 7000 = 15.6. So having that calculation would have been nice, though that would imply entering the bullet diameter as well, and frankly, I can do that on paper later. Not a big deal basically. A case would have been nice, but I 3D printed one:

For a reloader, it's a gem. I say that having no relation to Garmin and I'm no fanboy either. This thing is just great!
