It has already been established that a revolver of this vintage is safe to shoot with smokeless powder. But, are jacketed bullets okay? I generally prefer to fire cast bullets, but I have some Hornady #32050 bullets in stock. This is a Colt single action army revolver in .32-20.

Assuming that the gun is in good condition, it should be safe. It'll probably increase the wear rate of your bore some, but that would be true even with a brand new pistol.

I forgot to mention that you may want to slug your bore before you start loading jacketed bullets.

Groove diameters can vary a bit with older SAA's.
