Went to the big auction and scored these,

I have to clean them up and lube the 1897 down, but I the Auto-5 was 170.00 and the 1897 225.00, not bad for a day,

I ran the serial numbers and from what I figure the 1897 is from 1908 and the Auto-5 sometime in the early 30's.

So did I make out like a bandit or lose my shirt?

Under two bills for a working A5 has to be considered outstanding, even if the barrel is a 30" full choke and it's gone to patina.

The A-5 is looks to be a 30's gun, but the forend is likely later issue. Probably from the 60's based on the "blonde" color.

For $170 it's hard to fault an A-5 that still goes bang.

You made out like a truck slam-full of Bandits!

Now, clean those things up, and add your own "Character Marks" to them...
