Yeah those spring kits are nice to have, mine is smaller got it from HD. Amazing what just swapping some springs can do...... Course once you drop the pull weight, you can feel all the grit in the trigger and that requires polishing......
That's not a bad way to do things lol.
I'm the exact opposite, I buy stuff I think is going to be a problem just so I can tinker with it lol.
Just ordered a Springfield 2020 rimfire:thumbdown:
Interestingly, the Ruger Americans are the only guns I've ever had that happen on, and I've used 700s for years.
I do think that is a good change though on the Gen. 2s....... I like most of the updates, Just the stock I don't like.... As long as they add some longer barrels
Went out to shoot with Dad today, we had targets at 4 and 6....hes setting up on the 6 here.
Weather was nice, but the wind was whipping. Weather service said 20mph, im guessing it was gusting higher than that and really inconsistent.
Loads were a bag of 29.5gr of lvr over 106Taps, and 30.5gr...
I hear ya, i really like the gen1s, especially the early gen1s which were a bit nicer than the later ones (IME).
While ive owned and am ok with the aics mag versions (Rugers little 3 rounder is about as short as you can get) they arnt quite as nice in hand, and i have big hands, as the round...
Ive been corner to corner on the one i kept, beyond the wonky edges and possibly not tracking exactly right it seems ok so far. More poking and prodding after i get my new 22
Aics mags kinda force that and the shooting public demands aics or stanag lol.....and mini mags.....
The rotaries could also be problematic (in other peoples experiences, ive never had an issue I didnt induce).
My ffl buddy just got one, ill see if hell let me take it apart and tinker with it...
So spoke to the seller if the scope lot I was hoping to harvest a 1-4 from yesterday and hes been busy and hasnt shipped yet.
So lacking what i wanted to run i put my 4-12 Si on there for today (dad wanted to go shoot). Im really feeling like sticking the dot back on and calling it good...
That is something one has to watch out for with running the heavier lubricants. Out here in Hawaii. All I really need to worry about is getting all the dirt out lol
Not horrible, class, paper work, each gun on your license requires a shooting "exam" and 150 bucks.
im waiting on mine right now, so i can start carrying my g3
Not sure if thats state wide, each county can be a little different.
I used to run 15 and 25gr micro switches on my paintball guns.......then there were there hall effect triggers that would sometimes be even lighter.
Anyway.....im currently trying for 1.5-2lb triggers on my Rifles. My lightest (ranger) has a trigger tech field thats 2.5. I'm considering pulling...
Objective is 57mm and the #40 from my Ares fits perfectly.
Ocular is 45mm and a #23 SHOULD fit well.....cant say for sure because all of my other caps are no-names and i dont know the numbers lol.
Having spent time decent amount of time behind all three.
Seekins
Bergara
Xbolt (unless you really like all the stock stuff on the Xbolt) then it might win on price point, and cause its genuinely a "nice" rifle in its own right.
Ive also had an older hunting version M18, and you might be...
Practical accuracy trumps groups for a rifle like this anyway... IMO of course. Busting berm trash is one of my favorite ways to build confidence.
I played with a Cross....zero interest personally, its tood damn small.....they are really nicely made rifles!
If the Ares was around a grand...
Just my opinion of course.
i think it does depend greatly on the shooter and application.
Personally I prefer a more heads up posture in both hunting and target shooting applications.
I also really dont like scrunching down on a rifle, which a high heel and low scope will often promote.
