870 18" Imp Cyl Barrel?

What wholesaler has Remington 870, 18" Improved Cylinder Bore "riot" barrels? I have tried several places and been unable to find them. They have plain cylinder bore barrels in 18" and they have the "Deer Barrels" 20" with rifle sights in improved cylinder. I know that I have seen some bead, 18" IC barrels though. Anyone have a source?

You might inquire at Remington and see if they had any suggestions about who has what. If they are available I suspect they'd be from a law enforcement distributor.

That said, I'd get one with a cylinder bore and have it set up to use interchangeable tubes. Then I could adjust the choke for anything I wanted. Sometimes Cylinder bore is "too open" for the task at hand. Defensive shotguns should always be patterned with different loads at various ranges to find the best choice for a given situation.

These come complete with a Tritium front sight, your choice of bead, rifle, or ghost ring types.

They come with NO rear sight on the rifle sight models.

Centerfire Barrels

I ordered 3 of those earlier, two Scattergun fronts and one that was a tritium bead-those are sold out. For this project I want an IC barrel, something with some choke in it.

I am also interested in the answer to this question. Brownells has some listed and I called Remington who said that they might have some available later in the year. Both of those were into the $ 160's or so for cost.

Does anyone have any other and hopefully less expensive sources?

Remington does make 18" 870 barrels with IC choke. They also make them with a modified choke, however, they are not available to the general public. I have also seen 14" rifle sighted barrels with modified choke. These were special order for a federal agency.

Mossberg replacements cyl bore only on their web-site for around $105.00....

I paid too much for my Remmy I/C -police take-off... patterns not as well as my cut-down vent rib rem-choke with wad-wizard...

I like the suggestion of screw-in chokes... until I have issues first-hand with them, I'll put them on my HD shotguns. I love the patterns.
