Using Standard Small Pistol Primers with Ramshot Enforcer Powder

Alliant doesn’t have Enforcer data. In fact, Alliant data hs become scant when they list any. Ramshot Powders are now distributed by Hodgdon’s. And they list the data on their website. www.hodgdonreloading.com

    Wyoming Spring Bear

You’re probably hunting as I write this but maybe not too late to help. When the bears first emerge, they’re hungry and primarily focus on carion from winter kill. That’s where baiting comes in. Slaughter scraps will work great, but it involves a lot of sitting and waiting. As the season...

    Tisas Carry 9mm

Definitely magazines. I’ve got a Tisas U.S. GI model that I picked up for a range toy. It shoots great, but I had feeding problems with it when new. Problem persisted after polishing the feed ramp. Problem went away when I tried other magazines. Especially good is an older Wilson 10rd mag...

Does the PSA Rock 5.7 need a piston for suppressor use?

The Rock is a delayed blow back. Given the operating pressures and gas volume, I doubt you’ll need any sort of booster.

Heading to WY.. drew our cow tags

BTW; We always pick up our non-res cow tags in the second round of left over half-price draw. This is first-come till they’re gone. This is in July. There were 36 area 86 tags when the portal opened. (I’d set my alarm clock!) there were 32 left when I logged out. My brother snagged #21 10min...

Heading to WY.. drew our cow tags

I’ve hunted area 86 several times. Most recently last fall. Good news! There are a good many elk there! Bad news! They respond greatly to hunting pressure. We stayed at the Elkhorn resort in Bondurant. My wife and I camped in our 25’ camper as did a resident good friend in his camper, my...

    .280 brass to 7mm-06 brass

You should also trim the necks. Bumping back the shoulder can lengthen the neck. Or, just resize some more easily available.30/06 brass… which you’ll still probably need to cut…

    Wadcutters tumbling?

Ideas; 1. Check your cylinder throats. You may have two that are either under or over sized. 2. Check the cylinder timing. You may not be locking up before the hammer drops. 3. Components matching. -are you using mixed headstamp brass? -are you roll crimping? -are you using a Lee Factory...

Mossberg lever action .30-30: Why discontinued?

Actually, .358win. Not .356 Winchester, a rimmed version chambered in the Winchester M94 Angle Eject Big Bore, and a few in the Marlin M336.

Oh-oh….S&W 629 Deluxe Light Primer Strikes!!

OP, How well do you know the staff at the shop where you bought the gun? Slapping the cylinder closed, or flipping it closed can bend the ejector rod, or hammering the cylinder open with a stuck case (hot load) can bend the extractor causing the problems you cited. (I’ve also seen yokes bent...

    Buckshot/Slug Choke

I would almost bet that the barrel had a piece of base wad from a previous shot. I’ve seen several $$$$-$ skeet and trap shotguns damaged or destroyed by the base wad from the shell lodging in the bore. Seems one of the worst offenders is the Federal Champion Paper hull shells that have the...

    Any 300WinMag plinking loads?

That’s a great powder and has been unavailable for some time. Note that it’s roughly IMR 4320 to 4350 speed. It’ll peak on pressure rather quickly. However, with H414 data reduced it’ll likely give excellent results with the jacketed bullets.

    Any 300WinMag plinking loads?

My .300 is a .300RUM so is a different animal. My “Economy” load isn’t exactly a “plinking” load. In 2006, I bought 16lbs of WC-860 pull-down from .50BMG loads for $80.00. (About what a single pound of Reloader25 sells for now !!!) It’s analogous to the old H870 surplus powder and works splendid...

    Self-Defense Ammo for Glock 42

FWIW, the Underwood ammo uses the Hornady XTP bullet. It’s what I use in my .380. Mostly the Hornady “American Gunner” as it’s the cheapest… I practice with the XTP loaded over 3.8gr of #231/HP38. Either get 900fps from my S&W Bodyguard or 980fps from my Beretta M81. I haven’t really found...

    Favorite 45 Colt Cowboy loads?

The OP asked about Acc#2 and ZIP with 200 and 255gr bullets. With the 200gr, try 6.0 gr of Zip or 7.0gr of #2. With the 255gr. Start with 5.0of Zip or 6.0gr of #2.

    S & W model 625 in .45 Colt

I too have a 625 MtGun in .45Colt. Weight is an optimum balance of weight to recoil, and wearability . I acquired it about 12yrs ago to carry while hunting in bear country (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, possibly Alaska.). I’ve actually carried it in the lower 48, but haven’t been back to AK. I most...

    Powder opinions

The Hodgdon listed pressures are accurate and correct. But don’t let the recommended maximum fool you. Because of the burning characteristics, an increase in powder charges can give a reduction in velocities and wild fluctuations in pressures. I worked up to a maximum of 17.8gr of Lil’Gun in...

    S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

I’m in the club of too expensive. I just three weeks ago picked up a S&W Model 15 in similar condition for $405 off of GB. Total after taxes, shipping, and transfer was under $500. It’s a SHOOTER! Haven’t had it out but twice, but on second trip, I shot a “clean” 12rds in 20sec at 15yds. 158gr...
