Anyone try one for quickly clearing outdoor range of brass? Not turning it into a vacuum, but simply blowing the brass off to side to be picked up? Thanks
I used a mulcher and had it suck through a manifold I made over 2, 5 gallon buckets. Brass falls out in the buckets and grass and dirt stay suspended in the flow and pass right on through.
Well got to try it out today with a back pack blower. It works quite well, especially damp sandy areas where it can dislodge partially imbedded brass. Also works in short to medium length grass, but not as well as sand dirt. Not surprisingly it doesn't work very well in wet dirt, and is not like blowing leaves around. Unfortunately to keep the any of the brass, it would need to be separated from sand/grass/small rocks. Do to time i just shoved it up and cast to side pile. Quite the winter, where the range is usually covered with several feet of snow and lucky to be in single digits.
