New pickup - Taurus PT845

I picked up a PT845 today - she's a beauty - can't wait to shoot her!

Here's some photos of it and the holster that I am re-using from my old XD45 Service, as well as mag holder for the XD45 mags. Fits like a glove!

If you're interested in reading my review of the holster and where to get it,

Congratulations! We have a couple on the Taurus board who own them as well. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 809.

I'm a big Taurus fan, My first hand gun was a PT111 and I wish I had not sold it to get my wife the Glock 32 she so desired. Man I miss that gun. How does it shoot?

I haven't had a chance to get it to the range yet. My son-in-law's birthday was today, and I promised to take him to the range on my bill to shoot his PT140, so, we may do that tomorrow. I'll put at least 100 rounds through it then.

I've got a Mil-Pro PT111 as well, but it needs repair.. The mag-catch sheered clean off, and I can't get the spring out to remove the part, so I need to ship it off to Taurus to get replaced.

I look at it this way - that pistol has had over 7,000 rounds through it, with no malfunctions until that one part gave out. Not too bad for a $325 pistol! I keep coming back to Taurus myself - for the money you can't go wrong!

Awesome! Make sure to post your range report! BTW, will the Taurus fit in the XD45 'Gear' holster that came with your XD?

I took her out for the first time today. I had a friend of mine with me and my son-in-law.

When I told my friend about it, the only way I could describe the gun was, "Imagine a polymer framed Beretta 92, with a 4 inch barrel that has a closed slide, and is chambered in 45 ACP."

Little did I know, this thing handles just like a Beretta 92 or 96 that is right out of the box.

I'm not a pro by any means, but I shot very well with this pistol!

Handled very very nicely. My friend who had his Beretta 96 with him took it from me and put a few mags through it - he was 100% in agreement, it felt just like his Beretta did right out of the box.

Here's a short YouTube video that I posted of me shooting at 7 yards and 50 feet. I bring the target in between mags. 1 mag at each distance.

Defintely worth looking into if you're in the market for a 45!

Had LOTS of fun! Now I have a few friends who are eagerly awaiting the PT809 at PT840 - if they handle anything like the PT845, they will be awesome as well!

I like the three way safety decocker. Very nice feel for a polymer pistol. I will be looking at the 9mm when they come out. I already have too many .45s.

The PT809s are out already!

Big brother PT845 needed a little brother to play with so I accomodated!

If the PT809 shoots anything like the 845...I will happier than a gun shop owner after the last elections! And NO, ya'll wrong...I will not get the PT840...well not yet anyway!
The 809 so far seems to have the same fit tolerances that my 845 has. Very well built and tight. These are some of the reasons why I purchased the 845 and I surely wasn't disappointed. I will shoot the 809 this weekend and might post a report.

That grip, looks like it's longer than any of the G21/FNP-45/XD-45. I'd like to see a picture with your hand on the grip, thanks!...
