This morning must not be my morning

Got to my stand around 5:45 or 5:50, dropped everything out of my lunch box, i thought i zipped it up, then i get ready to load my gun and my bullets fell on the ground when i wasn't looking. So after all of that im ready and then later i see nothing. My cousin right down the road shoots 4xs around 6:12. He missed a big bodied deer to. Going back out this afternoon maybe. Wish me luck!

Good luck Arkel23, take along a good daypack so your stuff doesn't fall all over. Teach your cousin how to shoot. 4 times at what distance yikes

Try archery an if your like me you'll have some really bad days! Ha...like the time I was getting ready to get down from the stand an buck shows up, get back in an an knock the arrow on the string, but it didn't fully lock on the string....the buck is now below me smelling my tree steps...I pull the bow back an aim straight down...my arrow falls off the string an lands right beside him...he runs off, flickers his tail......I have dozens of bad days.....hang in there...by the way, that same stand got me a 10 pt. a few days later.

I had a worse day two days ago. Coming back from elk and deer hunting, I hit a deer with the car. Oh the irony.

LOL. Jbkebert, I'm not sure how far the shot was, but I heard all of those shots and I started to txt my cousin and ask him if somebody was shooting Godzilla, but I'm glad I didn't cause as I said it was him lol. It was still a little dark, so I assume that was why he missed, because he usually kills whatever he shoots at.

I had a pretty crappy day today also. I went to get in my stand and some jackhole had stolen my stand and climbing sticks. They were even chained to the tree.

Thanks, I'm sure it will come back to bite them somehow. There's nothing worse than a thief.

Maybe you need to slow down a little. I always forget things the first several trips so I just leave them in my truck now.

351, believe me, I was moving slow lol. I'm not really sure how my bullets got on the ground though, I think those fell when I was unfolding my chair.

Just remember, the worst day hunting is better than the best day working.

Today was the gun opener. I went and sat in the stand, but had to quit early due to unavoidable errands I had today. I wanted to go duck hunting, but decided I could quit deer hunting earlier. If I got out to the marsh and the birds were working well and I wasn't shooting well, I could be there later than I wanted to be, LOL.

No hogs in the trap either, today. Bummer. I did enjoy taking my little .357 carbine, though. Haven't hunted with it much over the years, killed one doe with it couple of years after I got it in the mid 80s. It is a handy little toot, light, no optics to worry about. It's plenty for out there in the heavy cover.

Yeah, I forgot my binocs this morning. I always seem to forget the glass.
