= $95 = Viridian Serac 6-24x50 (30mm tube) - Natchez Tax Refund Sale

Put one on my Clark 10/22 with a 30 MOA rail and sighted it in for 100 today.
Could you tell how close to the center of vertical/elevation turret adjustment the crosshair zero is at 100 yards? (Number on the turret?)

And what velocity ammo were you shooting? (SV or HV)

I'll try and play at longer ranges tomorrow.
Should be able to reach way out there.
Definitely with 30 MOA rail over 20 MOA.

Thanks for the update.

It's been raining here for the past week and today was sunny but had to do grocery shopping for tri-tip dinner with kids tomorrow (They needed to be trimmed and marinated 1-2 days with me making rub from scratch) and we have 4 more days of rain forecasted. :( (There's a reason why everything is so green here and we are definitely going over past decade average of 60 inches of annual rain this year ... Already 44 inches year to date)

There is 1 1/4 turn of "down" left with 100 yard zero.

Was using a lot of this, that was subsonic.

Was pretty close as I used this little fixture I built to project a dot down range that was centered in the scope I took off of it. Swap and line the new one up with the dot and go.

Then fine tune for the different ammo, chasing "splash". It's not sub moa ammo but that's why my small plate today is 1 3/4". ;)

D.....IT. Now I have bought one also.
STOP posting these sales/discounted sales.
Got mine yesterday via Fedex (no USPS). He even rang the door bell!!!
I had read the specs but the length and weight did not click until I upackaged it.
FWIW....great packaging and Natchez included their 1-1/2 lb catalog. Now I know why the shipping was $16.25.LOL
Cons: The manual is poor. :cuss:The website does not have a manual for this model. The lack of instructions (for a while) confused me as to why I had received an Allen wrench. Only by tinkering did I figure out the zeroing of the turrets and how to lock them....and I am a retired engineer.

Plus side: I now have to buy a new rifle to 'fit' this scope.....hope my spouse understands!

Link to Serac manual is not readily available from the webpages but downloadable from Viridian Optics site - https://viridianoptics.com/pub/media/wysiwyg/pearl_theme/serac_manual.pdf

While manual does not address zeroing of turret, once crosshair/elevation is zeroed, loosen hex head bolt with Allen/hex wrench and lift off turret cap. Align "0" with white dot and tighten hex head bolt.

Now you can turn the turret instead of using reticle lines for holdover. Here's a video on using turret vs holdover

Well, I used this stuff because I have a lot of it on the farm.

And once I maxed out the elevation, I still needed 4ft of hold but its clear enough you can see the bullet falling back earth, in it's rainbow trajectory, at 300 yards.

Had my buddy give it a run.

He's a better shooter than counter..;)

FYI at 50 yards, using Ruger factory picatinny rail I was maxed out on Viridian Serac vertical/elevation turret adjustment and was using reticle lines for holdover and EGW 20 MOA rail put the crosshair back to center of vertical/elevation turret adjustment.

I swiped out my Vortex on my Ruger PRF 22LR for the Viridian 6-24x50. Went to the range yesterday to zero it. I ran out of elevation at 50 yards. ***.....!!!!!

Thank you.... The strange part, last year I ordered a zero rail from Optics Planet. The package said "Zero", but rail itself had 20moa. Sent it back.

Scope, mount and rings all ordered at different times, all showed up May 6. I put rig together two days later, may try preliminary sight-in later today. I really like the fit and finish of the Warne 15 pic mount. Cheaped out with Monstrum V2 rings, but they are easily swapped out if any issues arise.

I sent mine in a week ago for replacement and instead of sending me a new scope they refunded my money.
I'd think maybe because there discontinued?
In April, I contacted Viridian Weapon Technologies/Viridian Optics customer service to ask how the discontinued/closed out Serac 6-24x50 model will be warranty supported. When I talked to customer service, they said Serac 6-24x50 models will be replaced with units set aside for warranty replacement and when replacement units are exhausted, they will be replaced with comparable current units.

Instead of sending it back to Natchez, contacting Viridian Optics customer service may have resulted in direct replacement instead of refund - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...z-tax-refund-sale.929399/page-6#post-12884715

Consistent 1" low of bullseye, adjustment maxed out. Shooting ELEY subsonic hollow point. Ordered a "ZERO" MOA Rail, won't be here, until next week.

That is a lot of drop to max out, was that at 50yrds? Seems like the 20MOA rail would be helping bring your POI up, My Bergara has 20MOA rings and it doesn't max out till over 200yrds. the Zero MOA rail will shorten the range your able to "twist". I will be looking for some rings closer to 40MOA soon

Just removed scope and reset to optical zero, using the mirror method. The rail says, 30 MOA. Now what, is the ring mount the problem? I will only be shooting this rifle at 100 yards, max. No longer going to Pennsylvania hunting. Father time, took control.

You couldn't zero a 50 yard target, still shooting low?
My 10/22 would max out vertical/elevation turret adjustment at 50 yards with Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50 and 40 MOA turret adjustment similar to turret adjustment of Viridian Serac - https://vortexoptics.com/crossfire-ii-6-24x50-ao-dead-hold-bdc-moa.html

Using EGW 20 MOA scope rail brought crosshair back to center of turret adjustment of Viridian Serac for CCI SV and Aguila 40 gr CPRN.

I am using Vortex Strike Eagle 4-24x50 with 80 MOA turret adjustment for T/CR22 due to built-in fixed picatinny scope rail on top of receiver.

FWIW, 10/22 can suffer from "barrel droop" issue that lowers POI, even at 50 yards - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...z-tax-refund-sale.929399/page-4#post-12879893

Using 20 MOA rail brought crosshair zero back to center of turret adjustment at 50 yards for me. If I was shooting at greater distance of 200 yards, I would consider 30 MOA rail.
