My favorite 357 All Steel Revolver

The Ruger MarkII has the right number of "marks" for @Mark_Mark :)

    Why Own a Snubby?

The situations where a snub revolver in the hands of a skilled civilian is insufficient are extraordinarily rare. Quick deployment (whatever that is for you) is far more important than large capacity, IMHO.

    Browning 1910/71

Nice piece! Mine is from the 70's, maybe? Haven't had it out in a while. Would love to have a 32acp barrel! Will start keeping my eyes open. :)

    Most rust resistant handgun?

This little Kahr gets sweated on a lot, but zero rust so far.

Walther PP vs Makarov PM vs… Everything Else

I forgot that I have the Sig P230, also. It's okay. It looks prettier than the Makarov or the FEG's, but it doesn't really shoot any better or worse than the other 380's. Pictures of a Makarov target from when I was younger, the Sig P230, and the PP clone in 32acp. The Makarov and Sig are okay...

    Revolver Resurgence-?

IMHO they're the best choice for people who don't practice much, have hand/wrist problems, or just like them a lot. I don't have any data about it, though, so I don't know if they're more or less popular than they used to be. I prefer revolvers for CC or HD, but sometimes I carry a small 9mm...

Walther PP vs Makarov PM vs… Everything Else

I have Hungarian PP and PPK clones, and a Russian Makarov. The Makarov and the PPK are both in 380. The Makarov is easier to shoot due to being larger and having better sights. The PP in 32acp is obviously the easiest to shoot, but the Makarov is really no problem. None of them are difficult...

Ruger single six .32 hr mag

I like my Single Six in 32 H&R magnum a lot. I have several revolvers in that caliber, and the Single Six is easily the most accurate. In my mind, 32 Federal magnum can be close in "power" to 38 special, and 22 magnum is a loud 22 that's expensive. YMMV. It took me months to find this one for...

My favorite 357 All Steel Revolver

I own a bunch of Taurus handguns. They're okay. They go bang. They're functional, but shooting them isn't like shooting a nice S&W... Except this one. It's from the early/mid 1980's. It's one of the early/"old" Model 66's that has an internal S&W-style hammer block instead of the later transfer...

    Pondering a Taurus 692

Looking forward to a range report. I'd like to have one of those, too. :)

    No Moon Clips

I have the 45acp version. It's cool and I like it. Moonclips are easy to use and NBD. At the range I usually don't bother. Most of my revolvers in autoloading calibers dump the brass easily anyway. If you're the target of a random street crime, you won't have time for a reload.

    The PPK Lives Again !!!

Interesting thought there. I have a Colt 1903, a PP, and a PPK. Just for shooting, the Colt is the nicest (even with the tiny sights). If I had to carry one of them (which I don't), it would be one of the Walthers, due to them being DA and safer.

44mag or 10mm for Wilderness Defense?

This should probably be merged with the burro defense thread? :)

My favorite 357 All Steel Revolver

Favorite SA 357 (mostly) steel revolver, and a medium frame DA with nice grips and trigger.

New Uberti 1873 Cylinder Gap Issues - Is this Normal/OK for Uberti?

My Uberti looks nice and goes bang just fine. I guess a good one slips through every now and then?

    Taurus 445 44spl

I owned one that was blued steel. It was fine. It went bang every time. No problems. The trigger was a bit stiff. I traded it towards something else after I got a couple of Rossi 720's, but there was nothing wrong with it.

Best 9mm revolver for EDC -or- just stay with my 357

I have several 9mm revolvers and use them for practice often. I've never had a round "jump crimp", maybe because none of my 9mm revolvers are very light. The recoil isn't excessive, like maybe a 38 special +P. I don't have particularly compelling reasons to carry or not carry 9mm revolvers in...

Carry Options... Is your gun "shootable" under stress?

It's an article for police officers about carrying their duty weapon when they're off duty. It's not relevant for me as a civilian. If a civilian walks up on a strange situation and settles it by shooting someone from 25 yards away, they will likely end up incarcerated. A civilian is also...

My favorite 357 All Steel Revolver

For shooting, the N-frame. For carrying, the j-frame. :)

    Who dislikes/hates the Beretta 92FS/M9?

I bought a Taurus PT99 in 1989 or so. It still works fine. I have a Beretta 96 that also works fine. I don't love them, but they go bang every time and have given me zero problems.
