Altor ! Cheapest 9mm Productions gun

But I nor anyone said the altor was intended for self defense beyond snakes using snake shotshells.
The only reason I can think of to consider getting more than 1 is if they come out with another caliber like 22lr as I have like four or five 22lr silencers.
Pirate stuff is always cool. I have 2 cap muzzle loading pistols and 2 flint locks, taking them all to the range is always fun, cleaning them all after, not so much. A blackpowder muzzle loader would be superior to an altor for self defense as the pirate gun would pack more punch and could give an assistant a proper beating after it's fired.

Altor seems to think their pistols are designed for defense. That quote is from their website's FAQs. :what:
... and that led down a new rabbit-hole of internet awesome. Check out this bandolier:

The context being posters on here. Companies are all about marketing and limiting liability.
For defense use a heritage rough rider and some cci ammo would be a better bet.
In factory form bullets fired from an altor tumble so hollow points are nearly useless and the recoil is so violent with factory ammo a bandolier or flashlight attached in such manor would likely be flung off as it appears to be made of elasti band. Unless they're a lot tougher than they look and are made of solid rubber.

NICE!

Didn’t realized this thread was rehassed!

I guest I should de a Range compare with the Thunder Struck!

Lots of progress. Found that out of 3 factory barrels two 9mm and one 380, none stabilized a bullet.
I threaded the muzzles on the non threaded barrels for my no moving parts 9mm silencer.
Found the altor makes a really good trailer park welrod, aside from the bullets tumbling.
I pulled a shelved barrel rifling experiment from nearly 30 years ago and rifled the barrels now bullets fly straight. Cut groves about 3 thousands deep.
Developed 9mm silencer loads for the altor with nitro100nf making it about as quiet as a pellet gun.
Tested tested 90gr xtp vs 100gr berry's plated hollow point. Berry's were superior.

you re-barreled the Altor! I was going to have the Factory barrel threaded for suppressor but The tumbling bullet issue scares me. You have photos of your work?

Altor talks about the tumbling on their website. They mention that tumbling is normal for their pistols. Apparently they use four shallow "micro-grooves" instead of SAAMI's six. At "self-defense" range, the tumbling is not supposed to be a problem.

Don’t use that gun for self defense! it’s just a novelty item for poop & giggles! something you take to the private range with friends when shooting gets stale. Like, put $5 in the hat, who ever can shoot closer to the center wins the pot

I don't like to have fewer than 15 rounds available for self defense. I can only imagine having to wear a trench coat with specially fitted Altor holders. Something like this, but replace the watches with pistols:

My rifling ain't saami spec either but it actually works.

For me the altor is a sub $500 welrod all in. Where the real welrod is over $2,200 with the tax stamp, last time I checked.
I would consider mine "pest control".

I didn't re barrel it, I rammed a rifling broach I made in the 1990s down the barrel with a hydraulic press. I tried a few times to take pictures of the barrel but they come out looking like poop.
The bullets don't appear to yaw untill around 3 feet away from the muzzle.
If you have a "45cal silencer" don't worry about it. If you have a "9mm silencer" I would wouldn't want to use one longer than a foot long. I shot a bunch of tumbling bullets in my 6 inch long 9mm silencer and no sign of a baffel or end cap contact.
If you send me a barrel, enough money for return shipping I'll rifle your barrel too, if it's not threaded and you want it threaded mmm add $30 as I found the altor barrel very easy to thread.

PM sent!

No suppressor yet?
working with one of the members here to have it threaded and extra rifling. Someone already did the research to stabilize the bullet !

got 2 suppressor and a 45/70 one on the way

Snek test.
Me personally I like snakes. If I'm close enough to shoot a sneke I would probably just catch it.
The first test is an amed shot from about 1yd, a shot like that, you're about to step on it. You basically get a 1 inch wide bullet, the shot capsule and/or wad alone would probably be deadly to a snake at 1yd.
The second shot I wanted to see how much spread there was at 3yd so I made an X up by the corner and blasted it. At 3yd, no matter how I place the shot, I bet all the shot wouldn't fit on that piece of cardboard paper, but a snake would be full of all kinds of holes. Yeah it's like a beach ball size pattern at 3yd.
