I looked at yet another 45 Colt chambered Uberti today in a gun store, a new production Cattleman revolver with a 5.5" barrel, and it too had a very wide cylinder gap! Thus far, I am yet to see one in 45 Colt that doesn't. At this point, I'm at the conclusion that this is indeed "normal"... at least for everything new coming out of Uberti, in 45 Colt.
Cimarron never got back to me. They either forgot, or are hoping I'll go away if they ignore me long enough.
They will get their wish, I don't plan to follow up with them and have them want me to send it in as a liability precaution on their end. Seeing so many other new revolvers with similar gaps, there is really no point in sending it in just to get a new one with the same exact issue.
I'll keep monitoring the erosion for now, and hope that it does not continue to get worse.
