Never shot this brand. Is the Underwood ammo as good as most say? Are there published velocities accurate?
Looking to buy 44 Special 200 gr wadcutters.

Never measured the velocity, but it has preformed flawlessly for me. The Flat Nose Black Cherry Coated Hard Cast: 200Gr is my go to 10mm round.

I’ve chronoed several loads in 9mm and 40S&W. Most were above listed velocity and the ones that were under, were very close. Their overall quality has been great.

Don't buy Underwood "blemished" ammo because the blemish can be inconsistent bullet seating depths. I know. I made that mistake. Once.

I'm a Range Officer on a fairly large state-run range. I observed a shooter destroy his Glock with Underwood "factory" ammo. It blew the right side of the receiver off and into numerous pieces. He was incredibly lucky to only end up with a severely bruised hand. In support of Underwood, they apparently owned up to a seating depth problem and replaced a number of destroyed handguns. At the time, that information was on their web site too. This was approximately a year or so ago.

I have shot a lot of Underwood ammo, including the 44 special 200 grain wadcutters.
They are an equivalent to Buffalo Bore at a much lower price.

I consider Underwood good quality. I've used Underwood 10mm and .38 Super. I once received some .38 Super that did not meet the published specs in more than one gun I tried. Underwood was real nice about it, and replaced the ammo at N/C. I haven't tried any advertised as blemished..
