What did you shoot today?

Not for me. I got the CMMG because it seemed silly to just have a dedicated .22 AR upper or any of the other half dozen .22s when I could use this with any of my other ARs.
Some folks complain about the accuracy using them in 1/7-1/9 bores, but mine has always been acceptable out to 50YDs.

Somebody is making a heavy bullet .22LR specifically for use in .223 barrels. Id like to try it for comparison it, but cant complain even with 40gr. fodder.

I hobbled out to the range today and shot my Ruger Wrangler and my Savage rascal . I'm just getting to the point I can put weight on my foot (surgery April 1st) I needed to get out so I kept it light. If you get past the "it's a kids rifle" the Rascal is fun to shoot very accurate for a cheap gun . I'm starting to get the Wrangler to the point I can see the sights decent. And it's a shooter . I actually felt like crap, was hoping getting outside would help. Back in the late seventies early eighties I coonhunted over hounds. The Savage Rascal would have been the perfect gun for that . Light, under 3 pounds, plenty accurate. We used a single shot for safety after dark . And being orange it would be easy to see if someone leaned it against a tree

I love my Rascal, and have given several as gifts, to both kids and adults and everyone loves them.
There is a whole cottage industry for preppers turning them into last ditch/buried/takedown survival rifles too. 😁

Me and a bud from work did a little plinking after work. We shot my freshly restocked '03 and a couple G80/PSA builds-

No pictures but I had a great day at the range today. First I shot 40 rounds of M2 Ball out of a Garand, prone at 200 yards, practicing for our club matches.

Then I shot 7 mags of 40S&W handloads through my G20 with a Lone wolf 40S&W barrel, offhand at 25 yards. I was able to keep them all on the 12" target at 25 yards, shooting relatively rapid fire. Not great but good enough.
I also ran 3 mags off hand through a Ruger MKII pistol and 11 mags through a BRNO #2 22lr, offhand at 50 yards. This rifle has open tangent sites and I am practicing for our club silhouette matches. It shot pretty well considering the ammo I was using (Eley bulk from the CMP and some Tac 22).

P-365 & P-365 Macro. Shot all one/right handed. Left wrist will be getting surgery and be out of commission 3/4/5 months, better hone up.

Sorry to hear about your wrist putting you out of commission. Hope all goes well and you'll be back in the game soon.

I'm curious, you've posted pictures of your private range many times (envious). How do you recover your 9mm brass?

Had a few batches of various 30-30 handloads that were 5 to 7 years old. Back before I settled on one load for it. Shot them all up today just for the brass, along with my regular 30-30 load just to confirm it was still zeroed. The illuminated reticle is nice to have on a gun that often sees game at first & last light, and even today on a cloudy morning it sure came in handy at 100 yards. The 30-30 is a woods gun so everything got checked at both 50 & 100 yds.. Also finished up 100 yd. zeroing of the CVA Accura inline with the 2-7x Leupold that it received this year. Finished up with a little Glock 19 practice time. IMG_0178.JPG .. IMG_0181.JPG .. IMG_0132.JPG ..

I've been on a 45 ACP 1911 kick lately, and today was more of that. I took my Springfield Armory Mil-Spec to the range and put 100+ rounds through it. I tried some holster work and found I need more dry-fire practice to be proficient in summer wear. The light shirt tail was not as easy to manage as I imagined. Did some two-hand, one hand, support hand shooting, and then some rapid fire. All was at 7 yards. I didn't take any pictures today.

The true accuracy of my Springfield Standard? I don't know and quite frankly I don't careo_O. If I hit the bottom of the large plastic jug from 100 yards it sometimes jumps 15'-20'. This is what's fun.
Being tethered by very long cords to a stick, it can not escape.

But a recent spotter at a gun club (he is on the board) indicated that I hit a 400-yard gong with it, at least once. The limitations of this rifle only seem to be "bipedal" / two-legged.

That's impressive. 400 yards with iron sights is certainly better than i could do. And it indicates the M1A is better than the Internet tries to say it is. The M1A is on my short list of firearms I'd like to get.

Zahn: My next trip to that club is the usual !:20 drive each way.
I belong to two clubs, because the huge club only 11 minutes away (from here) Has Absolutely No Gongs For 'Real' Rifles--unless rifles literally are in "handgun chamberings " ! 🤬 They hate to have a weld broken, so Zero Gongs for real rifles.

But usually a friend, who has a Barska for spotting, is available to ride along to the distant club with the 2/3/4/500-yard rifle gulley..
My just-arrived FAL "StG on Imbel" with 18" barrel (very little wear on the Austrian kit) will be tried next on gongs, because its trigger is better than both the M1A's and L1A1 FAL's trigger.

Took the Marlin XT-22 magnum out back to check the zero and accuracy of the Hornady vs CCI 30 grain ammo at 50 yards. Hot and muggy but both did OK with the Hornady being slightly better. It will be on standby for the next coon that shows up under the bird feeder.
