wonder why no 7.62 creed

Yeah all they need to do is change nothing but the pressure just upping it a little, the free bore to allow longer coal and call it the 30creedmoor.

That's all good reading . But Im not the type to fall for a new cartridge !!!!
My 30 Remington AR upper has them all beat. " power of a .308 in an AR15 " Full page ads and Remington support.
It's sighted in and ready for all three cartridges I have left. Very popular . If only I had gotten the camo lower to match the camo magazine.

We have had a century of trying to get something better than a 30-06 in a shorter package. 300 Savage could get close enough with light bullets. 308 had the advantage of military adoption and mass production.
I feel it’s easier to displace an uncommon cartridge like 6.5x55 or 260 Rem for small practical benefits than it is to displace a ubiquitous, widely used cartridge like 308 or 30-06.
