I'm looking to try out Hornady's 180 gr. SIL (silhouette) bullet using 300 MP in a rifle. 100 yd. target shooting.
Alliant's data only goes to 170 gr. for said powder. But they have data for 158 & 170 gr.
158 gr. GDHP with 18.6 gr. with OAL at 1.575".
170 gr. GDSP with 17.5 gr. with OAL at 1.590".
IIRC, and I will double check, but Hornady list the SIL and XTP OAL at 1.590".
So I'm thinking that if I stay within 16.3 gr. and the 10% below, with the 180 gr., it should be in the safe pressure zone.
Anyone see it differently?
These are left over bullets and I figure to try them before buying 180 gr. XTPs and MBC cast 180 gr. or possibly others.
TIA!
