Hello All! New member here from central Virginia where I'm self employed as a land surveyor. My interests include firearms, primarily bolt actions, but all things that recoil, hunting and the shooting sports in general. I've handloaded for years and dabble in gunsmithing. I've lurked here for a while and decided it was time to sign up. Looking forward to participating with like minded folks.

Joevol here and as he name suggest, I'm from Tennessee. I love guns and make frequent trips to my clubs range. Just this year I let a friend talk me in to reloading. Yikes I'm addicted. I'm learning this is one of those subjects that the more you know the more there is to know. I have a Redding turret t7 where I load .223, 300blkout, and soon 308 for accuracy. On another bench I have a Lee (not sure of model but a heavy single stage) where I load 9mm (wish I had not), 40, 45 acp, 45lc. I have some equipment needs but can't figure out how to post in the buy, sell area. Do I need to be approved or what? Thanks....Look forward to being a valued member.

Hey guys, new members here my name is Russ and I’m from the Portland area of Oregon. I’ve been shooting for probably 15 years and reloading for about 10. I’m a big fan of bolt guns revolvers and any oddball calibers/wildcats. I’ve recently taken up target shooting, my best 5 shot group so far is .523” at 100yrds and last year I hit my first target at 1,000yrds. I’ve used thr for years developing loads and I figured it was finally time to join and help add to the conversations. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Again I forgot I was a member here.
I love the place plenty of threads to read and catch up on. I’ve downsized the amount of forums I vist but will always have room for THR. My main interest is in modern Ak’s 100’s etc, but have recently jumped into the Ar game, alot to learn here.
You can find me primarily on Ak files.

New member on this Forum. Not new to shooting, as I compete with SASS. My range is from current firearms to Cowboy guns. My whole family shoots, and we often invite new people to join us when we plan for a week end of target shooting. Served in the Army with the 3/11 ACR, and last duty station was at Ft Hood.
Holster and belt maker as a hobby, and also enjoy acting in Hollywood. Hope I can add to the Forum. My post after my introduction will be to start a Karma to benefit others that are in need of some help.

Thank you,

Henry

to the fella that emailed me about the coins inlaid into my 1860 Henry rifle....
Yes, they are real 1860 double eagles. I figured what the hell...
I'm never selling this rifle while I'm alive so I might as well make it look as good as it shoots!

New here, been a lurker for a few years. Mostly interested in Marlins, and Milsurps but I do have other guns I love to shoot. Heavily into reloading, and bullet casting (on a temporary hiatus). Big time Motorcyclist and Rider Coach, and I have a tobacco pipe collection that is as ridiculous as my rifle collection. Happy to be here!

Hello from the beautiful Tennessee Valley and one of the most pro gun states in the union.

I’m a longtime shooter. My first experience was sitting on my fathers knee and pulling the trigger on his 1903 Springfield when I was 5 years old.

I come from a family of competitive shooters and shot IPSC for many years myself. I introduced my son to IPSC when he was 10 and spent many enjoyable days shooting matches with him.

I got out of shooting for a while but now that I’m retired I’m getting back in and really enjoying it. I’m thinking of shooting some IDPA to get my feet wet again.

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!

Greetings fellow gun folk/gun nuts - take your pick. My 30 year long obsession with firearms began with bolt action Mausers and has morphed thru various self loading military rifles. Handguns are fun as well, with a particular tip of the hat to the 1911. Wheelguns make me smile, no need to chase the empty brass. Oh yeah, I've been hand loading ammunition since my first guns came home. It's all good!

I'm Travis and I happened to encounter a post by TallPaul (one of your members) about hid buying a Savage 99 in 30-30. I wanted to let him know that I own one in takedown model too. It was made in 1927 and was my father's deer rifle. He gave it to me in 1963 and I've hunted blacktail deer with it ever since. I only use it when I'm in heavy timber but use a Savage 99 in .308 out in the clear cuts. The 99s are great guns and I've never had to fire more than three times during a hunt to bag a deer (usually only once). I quit hunting (deer & birds) a couple of years ago but still have several weapons that I've collected/gathered over the years. With my age, the hill country of the Pacific Northwest gets to be a bit of a test.

Hi,
I am new to The High Road as a member, but, have read a lot of posts here over the years.
I got my first center fire rifle at the age of 40. A Remington 700 in 270. Since then I have started reloading for the 270 and over the last few years added about one caliber a year. So I guess I am up to 19 or so.
Reloading has become a hobby for me. Shooting paper and hunting is an occasional pastime. My newest facet of weapons is longer distance shooting. I am trying to get proficient at 400 yards. Then, if successful, move out gradually til I hopefully get to 1000 yards.
Also, I am on a budget that is probably not in tune with shooting past 500 yards. We shall see. Glad to be here as there is some educational and entertaining posts here.
