Hello folks, I just started a thread like this on another forum and would like to invite the members here too. The past couple years we have been having a meet and shoot for the forum members in the Wisconsin area and in spite of the effort we didn't have a very good turnout last year. Don't know if it was the timing, location, just general lack of interest or a combination of things.

Last year we met a McMillers in Eagle Wis. and the year before we met at Milford Hills in Johnson Creek Wis.. So I'm just getting started with this and nothing organized yet but would love to hear from anyone interested.

entropy, so far nothing has been set and the person who did this last year doesn't want to do it again. So what is available in central Wi. that you know of?

Last year we did it in July and as I stated we didn't get much interest. I was thinking sometime in May/June or Sept./Oct... Where the Later time could also be used for Deer season tune up.

Most of the ranges I know in the area I know more for the Trap shooting; I really can't think of one that would be a good Rendezvous spot.

The two I mentioned already have rifle, pistol and trap. Milford Hills is east of Madison. What do you think would be a good time frame? Spring, summer, early fall?

Well, Rendezvous were traditionally held in the Spring, but early fall would be OK. I like the idea of tuning up for deer hunting, though I didn't get out this year.

I'm not a hunter either and the only long gun I own is a 22LR rifle so yes I am basically a pistol shooter. But I understand a good many are long gun and shot gunners.

If you are looking for some place centrally located, this may be an option, just a little north of Madison...and it may be free to use (at least I read that in a review)

The Columbia County shooting range features 100- and 50-yard rifle ranges, a 50-yard shotgun patterning range and a 25-foot pistol range; earthen backstops and side berms and overhead baffles in shooting sheds to ensure everyone's safety.

Fyi looks to be about 2 hours from Milwaukee, Lacrosse, green bay, wausau. Janesville is 1 hour, Eau Claire 2.5 hours.

Seems like a good central location.

Looks like a nice venue. I may have to take a road trip up and check it out.
