Colt claims that they'll coming out with other versions of the Cobra and King Cobra. Once they release one with adjustable rear or night sights, I'll bit...

Anybody wonder if they’ll do other calibers? 22 would be nice maybe a 44

I'm interested in the new gun. My absolute favorite revolver barrel length (3 inch) in a very versatile caliber. The "new cobra" action on my two 38s is superb. I have every reason to believe this one will be great too.

Picked mine up Saturday, shot about 50-60 rounds of mixed handholds through it, 38 and 357. My hands don't handle full bore mag loads in lightweight revolvers any more, I'll probably shoot +p and standard 38s most of the time as it's gonna replace an old police positive as my farm pistol. My eyes can see the fixed sights better than most adjustable types so I like that. The finish appears to have been lightly blasted or peened in some manner, eliminates sharp edges and gives it an extremely smooth finish and the trigger feels as good as the old trooper laying in my nightstand. As you can tell I'm liking this little pistol a lot. After handling and shooting this gun over the weekend no way could I compare it to a charter.

Read somewhere that Colt is only making guns on one frame, which is the D. So don't be expecting an Anaconda in the near future. Sounds like they are taking a sensible approach and seeing where this road takes them.

Around here there aren't any new Cobras available. When that gets fixed I want to buy a replacement for the dick special I sold in 1990. Too bad I can't get it in nickel. Then the King. All the while continuing to expand my stable of old Colts.

I might have to soften my anti-Colt stance if they keep bringing "back" the stuff they dropped that caused me to drop them. My Woodsman needs a friend, my 1903 is lonely, and my Scout and New Frontier are alone together as friends.
I still feel they crapped all over us when they dropped the whole line of rimfires and revolvers after going whole hog on the M16 thing. I know, I'm irrational, but I was a died in the wool Colt fanboy. I gave my Python to one son, my Detective special to another. Kept a few. Laughed at some of their attempts like the Cadet.

So what impresses me the most, it's a Colt .357 Magnum with a MSR of $899 while S&W has similar for (3" M66) for $ 849, not bad at all.

I'm not in the market for another .357 Magnum right not but I'm easily tempted lol.

How many you want? They are in stock at a lot of distributors...actually the regular one is on sale $40 off!

As much as I love 3" revolvers I probably will pass after my disappointment with the Cobra or at least wait until everyone gets through the "got to have one" stage and the prices will drop drastically.

I'm surprised there aren't any new Cobras in your area. Every gun shop I go in seems to have at least 1. I was In a shop on Monday and he had 2 in the case and a couple more in the safe. Had them marked at retail but it was quickly pointed out that a huge discount was available.

At the last 2 shows I have been to I have seen a total of 2 standards and one night, all at full retail and no movement on price. They are either in high demand around here or short supply. My guess is that the dealers don't expect they will sell. I haven't made rounds of the local shops, but my regular hasn't had one on the shelf when I was in. So I keep looking.

I haven't seen one yet (will make the gunshop rounds tomorrow) but based on my experience with my Cobra (and its superb trigger and accuracy), I'll go for one.
