I didn't own a 22 revolver suitable for shorter-range shooting. My shooting buddy likes to shoot from seven yards a lot these days. My 6" K22 and 6.5" Single Six are kind of silly at that distance, so I decided to get something with a shorter barrel.
Fixed "gutter" sights are really not my thing. I wanted something with larger, adjustable sights, but a fairly short barrel. I really like my LCR in 38 special, so it wasn't long before I decided on an LCRx in 22lr.
They aren't readily available these days, especially used. Last week I finally broke down and ordered one from Bud's. Yes, I paid "full retail". The neighbors heard my cries of grief from hundreds of yards away. I still haven't completely stopped weeping.
I picked it up this weekend. It's a nice little revolver. The fit and finish are good. The sights are good. The trigger, unfortunately, isn't as nice as the one on my 38 special. I've been snap-capping it some, and it seems to have improved slightly. I probably won't get to shoot it until this weekend, or maybe the one after. Other than range work, I may occasionally carry it around for plinking and varmints on my BiL's rural property. If the trigger will smooth out a bit I think it will be a decent little shooter for me, but time will tell.
Does anyone else have one? How is the trigger? Has it gotten smoother with shooting? What ammo does it like? Do you have any holster suggestions?
