Hi,
I'm 46 y. o. building contractor living in western Chicago suburbs. I started shooting when I was 7, reloading 6 years ago, casting my own bullets 4 years ago and last year I became member of Aurora Sportsman Club.

I'm member of NRA, ISRA and GOA. You may have met me in Springfield at pro-2nd A rallies.

My various searches for gun related informations often lead me to this site, but only recently I decided to register.

I was a member about two years ago, now I'm back. Just started reloading .223 to feed the pistol and my brothers rifle. I like to go out and about in the jeep or the buggy, shoot things, explore the wonders of ham radio, ride my Harley, and spend time with my daughter who is a masters student at the University of Nevada. This is a great forum. love it

Followed THR for a bit, liked what I saw, so I jumped in. I like to read, I'm interested in a bunch of different gun stuff and really liked what I saw in the reloading section. I'm a member in some other forums, read a lot, not a big talker but I will stick my 2 cents in if I think I can be of help. Looks like a good place to be, thanks for lettin me in.

Hey Y'all!

I'm new here, after having lurked over my husband's shoulder over the last year or so. I am relatively "new" to the world of firearms, but that doesn't mean there is no passion there! I am eager and fascinated by all things gun related. I firmly believe that suppressed shooting is the civilized way to shoot, now endeavor to get all other shooters on board with the polite way! I am spoiled rotten by my husband, who created a new design of suppressor for a .243 rifle he brought home as a gift for me. He said he intended to get me flowers, but got a rifle for me instead. (Better than flowers any day of the week!). I was 9 months pregnant and reloading ammo, among other things that make me smile and my liberal family members cringe. This is my life!

My husband is MachIVshooter, so I've come to join the club!

Greetings all,

Been shooting and collecting various types of firearms for over 16 years and in particular, old military rifles. Moved to Arizona from the bay area CA in 2004 and love the gun laws here. Just starting to reload about 3 months ago and I find it tedious yet rewarding and necessary (especially if particular types of ammunition are not readily available or obsolete).

It seems like every time I perform a web search for something firearms-related, it always takes me back to this site; I figured it was finally time to join this vast community.

HI, I'm new here. I've been working on .308ARs for 10 years now, the smaller ones for longer than that. Retired from the Army after 21.5 years in 2007 (1985 to 2007). I got paid to do alot of things that adrenaline-junkies pay alot to do... It was a blast, and I'm lucky allmy parts still work, and none are missing. I've been involved in all-things-mechanical since I was a kid, so my post-military career was going to lead me to either 4WDs (trucks and Jeeps) or powersports performance. Since I'd rather carry a 450cc MX engine across the shop, instead of a TH350, I went powersports. I dabble in firearms - they're just mechanical, too, and can't out-think us. I have the .308 platforms down to a science now, even with all the screwed up stuff that's out there, from all kinds of manufacturers. I'n no savior, and I'm no saint, but I've seen enough of the bad recoil systems, bad gas port sizing, and this "in-between" gas port drilling that alot of manufacturers are doing now - to know that there ARE solutions, and there are answers. And there are fixes, that will fix all of them, no matter what the issue is. From what I've seen so far, it's still a mystery in alot of places, so I'm only here to help.

Any .308AR questions you have, throw them out. I'll do my best, across the 3 major platforms (Armalite, DPMS, Rock River). I know the lesser known platforms, too, in this caliber and platform-size. Glad to be here...

Currently, the caliber variations I have in AR format are 5.56, 300BLK, 9mm, 45ACP, 25/45 Sharps, 6.5 Grendel, .308 Win, .338 Fed, .260 Rem. I'm probably forgetting something, too. In the wings, waiting, is .338 Lapua Magnum and 500 Blackout. In 5.56, 300BLK,Grendel and .308 Win, there are many multiples, just configured differently.

For the .308 Win, my favorite is probably the 13.5" Aero Precision (DPMS-based) setup with all Armalite guts, complete. It just runs like a champ.

Howdy howdy folks, new arrival from NC looking forward to getting acquainted with you all. I have a deep and abiding appreciation and affinity for anything and everything that goes bang.

Hi, new member in Norther Utah ... been lurking and using all the great ideas and info for years, thought it is time to contribute. Also on Cast Boolits ... into casting, and right now really having fun with 30 Luger on Glock platform. Mostly doing handguns today... love 6 shooters and all wheel guns, obscure military stuff, handloading and casting... Not really an expert at anything, opinions about everything. I learned that learning from people is usually more fun than telling them how it is. Everything I post is just my experience and my opinion, certainly interested in others' experiences... I always reserve the right to be wrong... ;)

Wow we just posted moments apart. Where are you at in UT? I'm in Bountiful but looking to move to someplace less quaint. Grew up in Ogden...

Hello to everyone. I’m 44 years old and have been shooting since I first set in my dads lap and fired a 1950 Marlin 39A at age 6. Love everything from percussion cap long rifles to modern day firearms. I love the feel of a bolt action and love the smell of Goex. Cap and ball pistols to modern polymer slide action pistols. I love the history of firearms and how they paved a way through history.

Greetings from long Island ,
I am a Newbie to this site and found it accidentally by entering a question on google. The question was "How to mount a red dot on a Henry"
After reading the answers on this site , I soon discovered that there are people on this site who are very knowledgeable about firearms.
I hunt and Saltwater Fish, below are the firearms I own.
