President Trump will receive CZ 75 "The Republic" (aka "100 edition") as a present from the Czech Prime Minister during today's meeting in DC.

100 pieces limited edition was made to celebrate 100 years of Czech/oslovak independence from Austrian occupation that lasted 1620-1918 and which innitially led to over 66% population decline and subsequent effort to replace Czech speaking reformed population with German speaking Catholics.

The pistols are for sale for about USD 8.000.

Pretty gun.

Too bad that presents given to POTUS do not become his personal property. As President he may use it, but upon leaving office the present remains with the White House.

I hope he fires it. Trump strikes me as the kinda guy who likes to get hands on so maybe he will? His son Don Jr. is gonna be impressed too I'll bet.

It would be really cool to have all of the guns that have been given to the Presidents over the years put on display for the General Public to see.

Pretty sure I read an interview where they asked Trump about his NY CC permit and he replied that he carried a J frame .38. Too bad they dont have reciprocity in DC.......:(

Let's not go off on Trump Love or Trump hate in a political sense, even though humorous.

Does Trump have to comply with DC laws on having a handgun? Or if it stays in the White House, that's a Federal facility? I like the idea of donating to the NRA museum.

It’s been a while since I dealt with government protocol and then never on a POTUS level, but it’ll probably be accepted on behalf of the US government and becomes federal property like many gifts unless the receiving official does whatever the process is to keep it personally. I bet presidents have accepted hundreds of guns in the last 50 years - but I’ve never read about how that works as opposed to other gifts.

Actually I think as Commander in Chief of the US military he could walk around with an m249 slung over his shoulder if he wanted to. Never mind carry whatever pistol he wants where he wants.
The Secret Service are who might have a problem with who they protect having any notion they will engage a threat themselves.
That just puts them at greater risk when it is presumed they are the focus and target in a hostile situation and the last person that should be using force when many other dedicated highly trained individuals are at hand to do it instead.
But legally he can probably carry anywhere meeting the same exemptions that the military does when they choose to have armed soldiers, armed aircraft, or anything else armed move about in our society.

This is a guy armed with nuclear weapons and the greatest military in the world that could make a decision that has you drafted into World War 3 next month. What small arms he holds during this period hardly matters.

............... Excellent question that I'm also wondering about. Any one know the story concerning that? On a related note; I've also heard the president has something in .38 Spl. (don't know if it's a J frame), but I don't know if that's fact or fiction.

The Truman Presidential Library and Museum has his issued 1911 carried in WW1, guns used by Puerto Rican nationalists to attempt to assassinate him, and I believe there were others as well.

This is beautiful! :)

Czech Republic is gun-friendly and Trump is gun-friendly, really making a capital-S Statement. :)

And the gun is beautiful on its own.

Re Trump carrying, I saw the original interview where he was interviewed and acknowledged having a carry permit, then the idiot journalist (but I repeat myself) asked if he goes to the range and he looked irritated and didn't answer.

I agree that the NRA museum would be a great home for it.

Wonder how they got it inside the D.C. city limits and are giving it as a gift. Back ground check?

Having the best security detail in the world until he dies means he most likely never needs to carry a gun for self-defense. From memory, members of the US congress can have weapons in their offices and are allowed to transport them (unloaded) to and from the office. (I say from memory since it has been a long time since read up on that reg.) So, I would guess if the president of the USA wanted to have his own personal handgun in his office, he most likely could. Member of congress are noted to sidestep many regulations they have enacted. When they voted on the no smoking laws for federal buildings, they exempted those already in the US congress. So they did the same with gun laws.

I seriously hope he does shoot it. Not sure if it is all looks or fully functional. A shot with the potus would definitely increase its appeal. Or send to hickok45 and hit the gong.
