Hello. I am new to this forum. I retired recently at 65 and am enjoying it thoroughly.
I live in Northern Alberta, Canada.
I love the Old West, it's history, and the guns. I always have.
Am a revolver enthusiast with a fondness for Ruger stainless Blackhawks, Super Blackhawks and blued Bearcats.
Also love military type 1911A1 pistols, lever actions, black powder era caplock revolvers and traditional muzzleloading rifles, and SAA Colt clones.
Favorite cartridges are .45 Colt, .44 Magnum, .45 ACP, .22 LR, .45-70 and .30-30.

Hi everyone, This forum has been my favorite for a while now. When ever I’m looking at a gun to buy or solve a problem with one I’ve have found a lot of useful info here. I’m retired auto mechanic and state inspector in Virginia. I have been buying , selling and trading gun for almost 50 years now. I’ve had quite a few rifles and handguns in just about every configuration there is but full auto. My favorite rifles are the 1886,1892 and 1895 lever action. My favorite handguns are S&W for DA revolvers and Ruger for SA. My favorite semi auto is the 1911 45 acp with a 5” barrel. I don’t hunt any more but I enjoy target and self defense shooting. Chevy muscle cars from the 50’s 60’s and 70’s, Harleys 1969 to 1983 when they stopped making shoveheads they stopped making motorcycles. Oh yeah and cold beer well that’s me just a simple man living in the woods

Hello all,

Thank you for looking, I'm happy there is a solid forum like this where we can help each other and learn more about different topics. Thank you, THR!

I used to own a site called SwapGiant.comabout 10yrs ago. It started as a classifieds swap site and quickly became known for a safe place to sell and swap firearms and related items. Unfortunately, family situations forced a shut down of that site. I am now bringing that site back under a new name as www.2ndProtect.com....this site will be very user friendly, free anonymous ad listings with images, forum, gun safety, relevant 2nd Amendment and political arms issues, event calendar, private and/or group chat, etc. But, I'm VERY open to letting you help create this site so as to make it the best arms listings site available. The new site will also be mobile device compatible and there are talks of an app to work hand in hand with the listings.

So, this is your chance to speak up! You can truly navigate the creation of categories, cities, topics of discussion, logistics of the sale, better site names, any safety issues you may have had with other sites that concern you, and anything else you can think of that would separate 2ndProtect.comfrom anything else. Things you like or don't like about other sites are welcome. I'm not trying to "take-out" other similar sites, but merely enhance our options and offer another alternative.

This is a very unique concept where the users will help create and drive the site and the interactive experience. Therefore, your insight is truly valuable and sincerely appreciated.

I look forward to your feedback…let's do this!

Old guy but new member, just joined after lurking for a few years. Mostly a handgun target shooter, although I prefer rifles. Spent a few years in the Marine Corps (Reservist) back in the 80s, hence my screen name. That's also where I learned to shoot, so the rifle focus should make sense.

Hello All,
New member today 9 March, 2019. I live in NW Ohio. Shot my first firearm at age 7, 56 years ago. I enjoy nearly all firearms except black powder guns. I’m partial to .357 and .38 Spl revolvers. Those and lever action rifles as well as trapshooting.

Hi. I'm an avid collector of C&R stuff, focusing mainly on Mausers. I've got a fair collection of modern things too, and a smattering of other oddities. Pretty much have an interest in most things historical. Thanks for having me here.

Hello to everyone. I’m 44 years old and have been shooting since I first set in my dads lap and fired a 1950 Marlin 39A at age 6.

My first shot ever taken with a firearm was my Dad's duty .38. On the way home from buying my Mattel Fanner 50 he took me to the range. I banged off 6 greenie stickum caps and then he handed me his Colt Official Police revolver with one round in it. Got to see there was a big difference between my toy and Daddy's real gun.

I love of Goex.

Have a female friend who loves the smell of Hoppe's. I think she'd try to talk her husband into using it as cologne if she thought he'd go for it.

Hi, my name is Cameron. I was just wondering how to post things here if anyone could help me out .thanks!

Ha! I even have to scroll all the way down to see my post. It’s so much work I decided to be the first, if any, to reply to my already overly stupid first post

Hello all.

I guess I can say I've been raised around firearms for most of my life. But have just now started to get a collection of my own.

Firmly of the belief that rimfires don't count when someone asks how many you have.
A true believer in disassembly and lubricants.
A rifle shooter who is trying to learn how to use a pistol, and has a firm indifference towards shotguns.
Most of my current collection is care of my late grandfather. But I do have a few pieces that I got myself.

Hello

I am a shooter and C&R collector from France since a long time...and naturally passionate about American weapons.
Thanks for going easy on me as I start asking questions ,and offering my humble input.
Best regards from France.
