I've liked the idea of the PC Carbine since they came out, but was holding out for a .40 or .45. Finally, when SHOT passed this year with no mention of new models, I bought a 9mm and was happy with it.... until today, when Ruger announced 6 new models including 3 chambered in .40:

Now I kind of wish I had waited a few more months... The 9mm is nice, but I want to fling bullets with weighs that start with 2....

I know I'm being greedy but I keep hoping for 10mm. My thought is if I'm putting a pistol cartridge in a carbine platform it might as well the higher end of energy to take advantage of the extra barrel length and weight to handle recoil. I might still get the 40 if only because since everyone decided it was a dead cartridge mags and companion guns have been rather affordable.

They now have a 'Tell the CEO' program so you can tell the boss you want to see it in 10mm/.45ACP. (I already did)

I sent a lot of e-mails to "tell the CEO" about a 9mm revolver/range gun, never got a response...good luck with that.
Wait, I did get 1 response that he was "out of town"...like he answers those emails personally, yeh right:scrutiny:
:uhoh:

Ruger Management:
"Okay, Bob in surveillance says he gave in and bought the 9mm. Launch the new models now. This should be hilarious when he finds out."

Shooting 10mm in a carbine like that would not only make the cash register jingle, but would catch it on fire. If I were to purchase one, I would be happy with the 9mm ammo. But would prefer the Henry single shot in any other caliber.

This can't be.

Everyone knows that .40 is dead as sea-scrolls.

I read it in a magazine.
(or was it on-line somewhere)

Certainly looks like it rendered the Q36 Space Modulator obsolete.

If I buy another I could go for a .45 PC carbine...or a 10mm if it can be done. The .40? Not so much.

It’s not that .40 is dead, it’s just a bit pricy to plink a lot with compared to a 9mm (which is why I bought the 9mm) and it doesn’t offer enough of a difference from the 9mm for me to justify a buying second one. Plus, it doesn’t have full power10mm oomph to take it hunting and feel comfortable it’ll perform on deer-hogs beyond very short range...

For folks without a 9mm PC already it could be a very good choice, and for home defense the .40 cal would be great ... like I think the 9mm PC is in that role :).

Time will tell if the .40 stays in the lineup or not...and if a .45 or a 10mm will someday follow. Until then...Stay safe.

Has anyone come out with additional magwell adaptors for the 9mm version yet? I remember hearing someone say how 3d printing a prototype would be easy, doubt it would hold up to the use.
