Maverick 88 Choke Tube?

Just picked up a new Maverick 88 security with the 18.5" barrel. My plan was to install a Carlson's tactical breach tube made for a 500 as it was my understanding that the Mav's came with an accu choke barrel like the 500's. Is it possible to have my barrel serviced to accept this type of choke?

My 18.5" barrel I purchased from mossberg is NOT threaded for any choke tube. I did purchase it ~15 years ago so they MAY come threaded now, but I doubt it.

There are numerous shops that will thread a shotgun barrel for chokes. I have used Colonial Arms in Selma, AL in the past. At one time they contracted to make choke tubes for some of the major manufacturers. They are now known as Colonial Choke and Tool and are in Spanish Fort, AL. http://www.colonialchokeandtool.com/ The original owner was elderly when I was using them, so I am guessing that the business sold. I charge $80 to ream & thread for Winchester/Mossberg/Browning pattern chokes.

A very reasonable fee for a job requiring expensive tooling and careful attention to details like barrel wall thickness and deviations from perfect concentricity.
