Shockwave as truck gun?

Are you actually going to sling up the Shockwave and carry it through the brush?

It's one thing to say it, but it seems a mite big to sling up for stroll on the offchance that I might see a snake.

When they came out I thought that the shockwave and the Tac-14 were kind of cool just because of the novelty and the fact that they had found a way around the NFA. But honestly I wouldn't really have much use for one once the novelty wore off.

For a long gun carried in the truck I would just go with the regular shotgun with a stock.

For carry on hikes or being out in the woods I'd likely just go with a pistol. :Shrug

Now if you could throw a stock on a 14 inch shotgun *THAT* would make a great truck gun. I still likely wouldn't carry that on hikes unless I was out in the middle of nowhere or on a deer lease.

I am wondering about using a Shockwave as a truck gun. I spend a good amount of time in woods that are fairly dense. Seems like it’s compact size would make storage in truck easy, as well as walking thru dense brush. Previously I have carried a Ruger Vaquero in 45 Colt, with the first two rounds in the cylinder being shot shells for use on snakes.

Should I just stick with the Ruger?

I would consider 20ga.

The novelty of my shockwave wore off pretty quick and I installed a sb folding brace. It folds up small enough to fit the pocket in the back of the drivers seat and can flip open real quick. I really enjoy shooting it now.
Can it be fired with the brace folded? If so, have you actually made an SBS or AOW, subject to a tax stamp?

Actually the question should be how did the snake get into the truck to begin with?

IMO the Shockwave is gun that a person should try shooting before buying. It still has to be aimed not pointer.

It’s actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. With the birds head grip and correct pull push method of firing with it presented away from the body at sighting elevation one can gain proficiency with it very fast. And at hallway or 15 yard distances it’s formidable.

Hickok45 seems to be able to hit what he’s pointing at.

Good example, I watched that before buying mine and took his idea of the hockey tape which helps dramatically ones grip on the birds head.

Take this for what it is worth. If you are a true believer, you will down play the points.

The one thing that gets to me is that if you want to bring it to eye level, you extend it as far as the total length of a normal shotgun using a stock. So, you lack stability for recoil and aiming without a stock. I know if you have one, this is baloney to you. However, having normal pumps, I don't see it as an addition for the truck or Tesla.

Shooting from the hip, forget it.

The interest in it being a truck gun is its short overall length. It would store easily out of sight. I don't think anyone is likely to argue that it would perform as well as a full stock shotgun.

Ok, ok....hold on.
Forgive me, I was referring to a shockwave AR pistol in my post. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...6-shockwave-classic-ar15-pistol-od-green.html
My bad. I never think of the mossberg shockwave as being much good for anything.
Camper gun maybe.

From a legal aspect, many states prohibit the transport of a loaded rifle or shotgun in a vehicle. Such laws usually don't apply to "handguns" such as arm brace equiped AR15 pistol variants. This along with compact storage constitutes a major advantage for arm brace equiped AR15 pistols.

Maybe. But if someone steals it that can do some damage in the community. I think a bolt-action rifle or a pump shotgun is less ideal for holding up liquor stores as they don't conceal well and require a bit more skill on the part of the user, so probably qualify as a better gun that lives in the vehicle (at least part of the time.)

I yield to the boss.
I dont want my tablet to start smoking like the scene from 'Mission Impossible'.

Hey, if you're comfortable with that in your truck, more power to you. I don't judge. I just chose differently. :)

At hallway distances no problem. I’ve seen what from the hip looks like on backer board at 20 feet, it’s a bad day for those on the receiving end. And was more than manageable for me.
