Join a gunclub, attend board meetings to win upcoming elections for 2A

Gun Clubs can get a political ground game just like labor unions. The list of registered voters is public information, a sympathetic Republican precinct committee officer (PCO) can acquire it for you. Get that list of registered voters to the club and compare with the gun club membership roster. Find out who is not a registered voter and contact them via letters, emails, phone calls, and doorbelling.

Find election campaign volunteers. There will be passionate 2A advocates that will make time to volunteer. There will also be some retirees that are bored with too much free time and they want to be productive. They will come if there is a call for volunteers in a published newsletter going out to club members.

Have printed voter registration forms at the range office where members sign in to go shooting. Better yet, have an online computer available for use if your state has online voter registration. It takes two minutes to get registered to vote that way.

Establish a phone bank at the clubhouse, staffed with volunteers. This is necessary for a voter registration drive and then for a get out the vote campaign during the election.

Consider establishing a carpool to get voters to the polls on election day. Some of the injured or senior members may need a wheelchair accessible van.

If this seems too difficult, the labor unions do this groundgame on every election to help Democrats take power.

You're on the right track with this, but I would say go even farther. There are only 2 parties right now. From time to time another might catch some steam, but for the most part, there are only 2 that get any traction and we have a somewhat bipolar and definitely dysfunctional system because of it. To REALLY affect change, we need to have solid pro gun, ordinary Americans take part in BOTH parties at the local level. That means our side, and I know that's a nebulous term, needs to be involved in BOTH parties at the local level. Turnout is a vital part of this, but we need to build a bulwark against "antigunism" in the parties themselves. Can you imagine if EVERY county in America had strong RKBA advocates in EVERY meeting how things would change. I've been active in Republican politics for years, but the process is the same in both. The party takes on the character of its members. If the membership is progun, then the policy will tilt that way locally. When its antigun, well y'all see where this is going. Yes, it costs money and time. In my case, I dedicate one night every 4 months to the County Executive Meeting, but I KNOW all of the people who make decisions here, and in turn, the state and national stages. We win this fight county by county. If we essentially set up a situation where both parties have substantial pro gun factions, we have MUCH more room to operate when the call to ban\over regulate comes up again.

Too simplistic. I hold degrees in history and political science. I've also lobbied for and against legislation, managed 5 political campaigns, and I have dealt with these issues for my entire adult life. I know what the modern Democrat party is, and why they are headed by and large to the anti gun faction. By staging a takeover, at least on the gun control front, you remove them as an obstacle. There is no past to let go of. Merely turning a gun club into a PAC won't fix this because turnout is NOT THE ANSWER.

You say that the Democratic Party is "headed" to the anti-gun faction?
I got news for you, the party leadership and the party base has been very much anti-gun for a long time.

Unions have a ground game in getting their membership to vote for Democrats. Gun Clubs need to do the same for pro-2A candidates before Democrats shut down all the shooting ranges.

You, Sir, have no news for me. I've been involved in politics much more deeply than you for much longer. The point is while you're a Johnny-come-lately doing a low rent impersonation of the League of Women Voters, we are losing since we are refusing to engage. Now, I don't know why you have chosen to start an argument when I originally agreed with your basic premise, but ANYONE who has worked on a campaign will tell you that turn out is the ENDGAME, not the start. If you think the membership of gun clubs is enough to change this, then you are delusional. You certainly are ignorant of campaign strategy, and I wonder if you had any inkling of such things before last week. Put simply, you are trying to come across as an expert, and you are not able to put together a coherent strategy other than "Get the gun club members to vote." Its a math problem, and the numbers are simply not there in the gun clubs.
