It's funny how we often don't appreciate things until they are gone. I've had a few Old Timer and Schrade knives over the years. I always viewed them as decent knock around knives, but never fully appreciated them. I always thought I could do better. But now that the only versions are Chinese made I wish I'd bought, and kept, a few of them. That's a nice knife and the family history makes it special. I recently gave my son the 2 Case pocket knives that belonged to my grandfather.

Schrade had always been around and it seems that they would always be around.

It was not to be. :( Live too long and everything you loved and was familiar goes away.
