I just received 500 Berry's 230gr RN plated .45 bullets. Just for range ammo, nothing special.

Any suggestions for a fairly accurate load with Unique using these bullets?

I’ve had good luck with 5.8gr of Unique under the 230gr Berry’s RN myself YMMV. Work up your load carefully. But honestly it is one of the easiest calibers to load for and still get great results all I use in 45 ACP is Unique.

Just make sure you plunk test and check magazine function and your golden.

And of course, nothing should substitute a good load manual.

Hope this helps,
CK

Thanks!

I've loaded .45acp before, but not with plated bullets, or with Unique. I pretty much just want a good charge to work up to, without too much experimenting.

Not Unique, but Berry's 185gr HBRN on top of 7.5gr of Herco is quite accurate in my M&P. Which was a surprise, because it wasn't so great in my other 45.

Herco is the definition of cornflakes, so Unique will be easier to throw consistent loads with.

My standard load is 6.5grn Unique and any 230grn bullet... including the Berry's. It is a maximum load, so reduce and work up. It duplicates factory in my 4" Kimbers.
