Have a new F150 and while I love the truck, the driver's door (where I am used to keeping a gun in my car being LH) is not conducive to that. However, the center console is cavernous and can accommodate anything from a Kahr cm9 to a G-19. The question thus becomes the best manner to secure it inside so it doesn't move around while driving.

Let's NOT get into the "don't leave a gun in your vehicle" bit, that is not what this is about. It IS about a means of securing a handgun in a holster or similar retention device inside a truck console

TIA for your suggestions

How does a molle panel attach - adhesive, fasteners, or something else?

I couldn’t use an adhesive where I live. It would melt in no time.

My personal favorite method when I can accommodate it is to screw a Serpa holster to something. I have a Beretta 92 under my desk this way. It is not visible unless under the desk which would be odd......and is readily available.

Inside a console would be a little more difficult for this method.

If your console flips up like the armrest/console on my Chevy pick up, you could do what I did. I raised the armrest and put a heavy belt(tool belt) around the bottom above the hinge and put a holster on the belt. It's completely hidden on the back side of armrest between the seats. The belt doesn't show, very secure and easy access while driving. Crude but works. I only use it when the truck is attended.

If your gun is light, I might consider above the visor. We keep a large lockblade knife on the visor of all our vehicles.
A block of foam trimmed to fit the console with slots cut to accommodate the gun barrel and maybe a spare mag.?

I purchased some cheap nylon holsters on Amazon and installed them with zip-ties to install them to bedside table, dresser, computer desk, end table, china cabinet and entertainment center. If I remember correctly they were about 2 or 3$ on sale, you could also us screws or pop rivets to install them.

I used to so that. What i was in a accident and the pistol flew thru the windshield and landed in the road. Not a good thing

Wow, firefighters actually use special tools for extrication through laminated safety glass. What pistol had enough energy to pass through it?
