Anybody ever get one of Midways "special birthday pricing" emails. I dont usually order from midway because usually their ammo prices can be a little on the high side but they are one of the only sites I've found has the IMI 69 gr razor core and 77gr 5.56 which is the most accurate out of my AR's.

So I get an email with site wide special birthday pricing and I come to discover that all the prices are identical to what they were before.

At first I thought it was a nice gesture and not a bad way to reel in some sales but now I'm thinking it's kind of duplicitous and not a good way to win business. Pretty lame in my opinion. Life will go on, not a big deal. Just kind of deceitful.

I get one every year, and always use it. I'd guess that you're either early, late, or not logged in.

I got one 3 weeks ago. If you log into your account it should say sale or birthday pricing on there. I haven't had an issue with it in all the years I've used it. Its not that much off and doesn't discount sale items or clearance so that maybe what your seeing. They emailed me saying I couldn't use it until XYZ day and it expires on a certain day too. I think a week after your birthday.

Ok, maybe it's because a sale item won't be discounted. It seems most things on the site are sale items though. I did sign into my account and the Birthday pricing banner was present but the price was the same as before.

Only other thing I could suggest is see when the pricing starts, log off and see what a price is of an item (not a sale item) and then log in and see if that normal priced item is marked down.

Good call. Yeah it wasnt apparent to me at first that the "sale items" would be excluded as nearly everything on the site is a "sale item". I will see if I can find an item that's not a "sale item".

It was my birthday last month and I barely noticed the price change. I ordered a new spring for my 12ga and the birthday price was $4, without $8. Shipping brought the non birthday price to around $15. Not a big deal all around but more incentive to shop in the 2 week window.

Have had a couple. Between their various free shipping, promos and sales, sometimes those are better than the birthday discount. All depends what I may want at the time.

I’d never buy ammo from them because the normal prices are worse than Scheels and their ammo sale prices are still worse than most other online retailers.

I have used the birthday pricing a couple different times and it works out great for stuff that rarely goes on sale. I buy odds and ends from them a number of times per year.

In general, I would agree. But they do have some pretty OK sales. I picked up a case of Aguila 22lr a bit ago. The deal was still on when my card rolled over so I picked up a second case. My 22 rifle likes Aguila.

Like you I mostly order odds and ends from them. If you order a few smalls from them, you may pay a bit more, but save on shipping. If you don’t like something their return policy is pretty good.

And they do remember my birthday better than my mother. There is that.

Worked for me when logged in. I’ve used it a couple of times. As always, compare prices.

Have a cart of stuff currently with my B-day pricing. I've got 5 days left, but hoping 'free-shipping' will return before my window runs out. I use this B-day sale every year.

I get the email, have never used it because the deal has never been significant enough for me to make an impulse purchase based on the price.

I have used my birthday pricing numerous times. I do not buy a lot from Midway but I do buy some things from them, like gun parts.

I only realized they did it this year and got a nice few things, but in the future, I'm saving "big" purchases in the Spring waiting on the sale; like major pieces of equipment as opposed to the box of bullets or case-holder that I generally purchase one at a time as needed.

I have used it several times. My understanding is that you don’t get it every year, but you get it more often than not. It’s good to wait for it if they have something you were going to order anyway, but probably not enough to trigger an impulse buy.

I have used it but forgot what I ordered, maybe a CRKT with gift card
