Hello, I'm new here, the forum was recommended by a friend from AR15.com, so I thought I'd sign up and see if this old dog can learn any new trips.

Hello all. Long time lurker here who finally decided to jump in! I'm into rifles and handguns and started reloading 2 years ago. I have learned a lot from the members here and hope to contribute soon.

Hi everybody, I'm Jordan. I was a member here a loooooong time ago and I sorta forget why I stopped contributing. But I'm back because social media stinks and all I really want to do is talk about guns hunting and amateur radio :)

Hi guys and gals. This the first post to any blog site for me. I'm hoping to learn what you know so I can add it to what I have learned. Maybe, I can return the favor. I hope to have many discussions about shooting theory and how to help new users get involved with the shooting sports and grow better skills. I have enjoyed reading a number of posts and I look forward to engaging in good discussions.

Hi all, new member here. I've consulted threads here often enough for info on different firearms and accessories, so I thought it about time I made an account. Relatively new to firearms (been shooting for 4 or 5 years) and I've had my ccl for about a month.

I currently only own handguns as my living situation (renting) precludes me from owning a safe large enough to properly store rifles. But I'm shot a few rifles, mostly ARs.

Anyway, happy to be here.

Hi, new shooter here. I'm an attorney with a solo family law and criminal defense practice. Bought my first pistol a year ago after a crazed soon-to-be ex shot up a colleague's office (no one was hurt except the shooter; he committed suicide when he couldn't find his target). I now rent space in the same building and wanted the extra protection. CCW every day.
But I also quickly realized that I loved range shooting, shooting sports, etc., and have since I was Boy Scout. A friend of my dad's used to let me tag along when he went to the range. Grew up, went to school, got married, kids, etc., and got kind of distracted me from a hobby I now get to enjoy. Building a collection to fill up my safe and joined here to learn more from experienced folks.

Howdy all! I was an avid shooter, reloader, hunter from my mid-twenties through my late thirtees. In my early thirtees, I was roughly a 1000 rnds a weekend guy in the cool parts of the year. Then the kid situation went from “Man on Man” to zone defense, other parts of life went hectic, and I took an almost decade hiatus from all of it.

#1 daugther and #2 son have recently taken an interest in both hunting and shooting, so I’m prepping for their first deer season. Prep involves, among other things, a relatively thorough inventory.

I can assure you, based on this inventory, that I fulfil the key requirements for “gun nut”. I found a 1 gallon Ziploc baggy of 9mm rounds that (I think) are the last of a batch of handloads put together during the second Clinton administration. I found two firearms that I can’t honestly reminder having bought or fired and for which I have no ammunition or dies. There are two boxes each of a caliber I am almost 100% certain fit no firearm I have ever possessed or ever intended to own. There is a set of redding reloading dies for which I have no firearm, brass, or projectiles, as well as an 8lb keg of ball powder with a label so faded that I have no idea what it is.

In short, I’m glad to be back in it, and happy to be here!

Hi,
I'm retired and been into shooting ever since I was a kid.
We live in the mountains of NE Georgia a cabin surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest. No neighbors within a mile or so. Lots of 4 legged critters, bears, bobcats, coyotes, cougars, coydogs and more. I have 9 trail cams out to capture what is outside at night.
The nearest town is about 12 miles away. We are pretty much self sufficient as we garden, fish and hunt.
Anyhow, I hope to enjoy the site..

You are living the dream Sir!

Thanks, but don't call me Sir; Infantry, NCO, Airborne and Vietnam. :)

We love it here and it is our dream. However, it is very different than the way most people live today. Here, cell phones don't work; so our internet and phone service is via Hughes net. We don't have satellite TV; OTOH, we spend less buying movies to watch.

Thanks for having me. I look forward to participating in the discussions. I am LEO who retired, the first time, in 99 from the Co Springs Police Dept with 26 years service, all in uniform, traffic, patrol, and TEU (SWAT). I was a fitness and firearms instructor there for 15+ years. I started my own training (civilians) and ballistic research company in the late 80's, and have had my FFL for over 30 years in three states. I moved to AK when I retried and became a reserve LEO with the Wasilla PD and worked as a Security Officer on TAPS (Trans Alaska Pipeline System) for about 6 years before moving to AL where I have worked as a full time, reserve, and now part-time Deputy for the Winston County SO. I spent 5 years active Army with two tours to RVN, and while on the CSPD joined the NG, 19th Special Forces Gp, and was a member of B Co, 5th BN, 19th SFG (A521) for 8 years. I enjoy living in Bama and have horses, cattle, dogs, and cats on my 66 acre 'farm'. I also have both a rifle and pistol range in my backyard, and the FOP Range two mile down the road which I built and take care of. I tell people, THERE IS LIFE AFTER RETIREMENT, BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK AT IT. :)

Hi everyone. I have been a lurker here for many years and finally decided to jump in and hopefully add to the discussion.

Thanks for having me!
