What have you fired this week?

Brought my Savage 93 in .22 WMR along with 2 that were hiding in the back of the safe for a while...My Remington 788 in 6mm Rem., and a converted 98 Mauser I did back in the 80's I cut down to a 19" barrel and made into a .308. It was one of those "Magical" days on the range where everything was putting round on top of round in the paper. At 100yds I could cover my 6mm group with a quarter. From standing and putting the back of my hand on the riser for the shooting window, I was putting all my .22 mags in the 3"X4" "head" on the metal target at 100. The Mauser was designed for light weight, with open sights on bad weather days, and was keeping 180gr. Round Nose .308's in about a 4" group. I was a happy boy.

Found a Remington 550-1 at an auction on Tuesday. Got it broke down and cleaned up yesterday. Ran 100 rounds through it today.

I got some decent range time. I put 50 148 gr WC/4.0 Bullseye through a new-to-me S&W 64, fired a magazine of FMJ through a friends brand new .380 Glock, put 10 each of 405 gr and 520 gr .45/70 through a Marlin 1895 CS 26” barrel wearing a new Williams peep and 25 Federal 7 1/2 patterning a new-to-me BPS 20 gauge with a 21” barrel/mod choke.

Stay safe.

I finally made a trip to the range although it got up into the mid-80's. Went back to some of my favorite loads after a season of trying new stuff. Dropped the 143gr ELD-X and went back to my 129 Accubond LR in my Bergara 6.5 CM. Dropped the 150gr AB and went back to the 165gr in my 300WSM Savage 10. The 90gr AB were gone and I went back to the 95gr Ballistic Silvertip in my 700. All three of these guns shoot very well with these loads.

It was warm enough that I got in some good plinking between cooling sessions with my 22 455 CZ. This gun has given me fits trying to find a load that it likes. So far the best has been with Wolf Match. I have tried Eley, Federal Gold Medal Match, Green Tag, Lapua, CCI minimag and 4 or 5 different cheaper loads. Wolf gets the ribbon so far, but, believe it or not, blue box Federals come a close second.

Fire formed another 50 6 BR cases in 6 Dasher after work today. One of the fellows from work helped and I think he is still grinning.

His first shot at 300 yards after we checked POI. (dialed up 1.0 Mils - almost no wind)

We worked on the hostage target quite a bit. (Middle plate is missing)

Yesterday:

Maadi ARM
PSA PA-10
S&W 29-3

It was a fun day even though it was hot and muggy. First time the ARM has been out in about a decade. I had forgotten how much fun it is even though the trigger slap is pretty bad.

This week, nothing. 95 year old father and 19 year old son both in hospital while 29 year old son is in rehabilitation after being run over by a dump truck. I know it's tantamount to heresy to say here, but there are some things that take priority over guns and shooting.

This past week...

Mauser 1914
Beretta Tomcat
Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless 1st. version
Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless 3rd. version
Bernardelli Model 60
Walther PPK/S 22LR

Managed to shoot the g26 some and my xdm. I really had forgotten how well I shoot the full-size xdm 9.

I got the scope mounted on the CZ 527 22 Hornet last night. Took it out today and sighted it in. Fired 20 rds. I'm really liking this rifle.

Since this is the first day of the week and I haven't even managed to finish drinking my coffee, nothing. Last week I got in a little time on two different days with my Savage FV-SR, G2 Contender with a match target 22LR barrel, and another G2 Contender with a 17HMR barrel.

Walther PP 7.65mm
Zastava M70 7.65mm
Beretta 81 7.65mm

All part of my surplus collection

Hi...
Went to one of the local gun clubs with my son.
First trip to the range with a custom Sako .308 that I bought about a year ago. Mounted a Vortex variable power scopeon it and sighted it in today.

Moved over to the handgun range and shot my three .41Mag revolvers and all four of my .44Mag revolvers and my Cimarron 1873 lever action .45Colt at 25 yds.
My son shot some pretty impressive groups with his 9mm and 10mm carry guns as well as his Model 66 .357Mag revolver.

Few hundred rounds downrange...need to get them tumbled and processed the next couple of days and reload a few hundred big bore revolver rounds later this week.

Ruger LCP ll, Ruger PC9, Ruger Wrangler, and last Mossberg 590. I think I have a Ruger addiction! Decided to take the red dot off my PC9. Plenty accurate without it.
