I don't own one but a buddy has a 350 legend upper on a Ruger lower with match trigger. One minute the gun touches holes and then after a few rounds it slings them all over the place. He said yesterday he cleaned it really well and first 3-4 shots all touched at 100yards and then started throwing them high right and left. He checked the scope for tightness and then it still threw them everywhere. Could be the ammo but he was shooting Hornady rounds off a lead sled.

Hmmm, this thread sure is similar to one on the firing line forum, titled low price=malfunction. Thankfully, we live in America where we can argue about such trivial things.
A malfunction is only trivial when you don't have any particular need for the rifle to work well. When you do need it to work, a malfunction can be fatal. It is pointless to argue about it on a forum though. That's just a hobby.

What you described sounds like the barrel heating up which changes tdd he harmonics of the barrel which in turn causes shots to begin to scatter. Really doesn't have anything to do with quality or lack thereof.

Yes, it does have to do with quality. Any halfway decent AR does not do that after only 3-4 rounds.

You obviously don't understand barrels where accuracy is concerned.

BCA's .350 Legend barrels are an M4 profile. A barrel in an M4 profile with a .350"x.358" hole bored through it has significantly less metal around the bore due to the larger area of the bore, especially compared to the same barrel in .22 caliber. The resultant thinner barrel heats up much more quickly, and when this happens to barrels, shots begin to scatter. That is why the friend of @ohihunter2014 is experiencing reduced accuracy after 3 or 4 shots. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the quality of the barrel, and it would come as no surprise to anyone who understands barrels that a .223/5.56 barrel wouldn't heat up nearly as quickly.

My father owns a Remington 700 Classic in 35 Whelen. Remington evidently used the same size barrel blank for all their sporter barrels because the Whelen barrel is super thin and light. I developed a couple of elk loads for the rifle and it is ridiculously accurate, but one must shoot slow because if the barrel heats up, things go south pretty quick.

Ever pay any attention to match-grade and benchrest rifles? They ALL have heavy barrels, and for a couple of reasons; they're stiffer, which is conducive to accuracy and they heat up less quickly. Ever notice the barrels of varmint rifles? Same thing. I assure you that you'll not see bolt action prairie dog hunters using rifles with sporter weight barrels.

Anyone here who has done much shooting/hunting with ultra-light rifles with their pencil thin barrels can attest to the fact that they're good for about 3 shots before shots start to scatter. But with a hunting rifle this is not normally an issue because it's rare to need more than 2 or 3 consecutive shots.

So, @ohihunter2014 have your buddy try slowing the pace when he's shooting his .350 and remind him, it's a hunting cartridge, not a spray-the-backstop-at-the-range cartridge. ;)

104BFDA7-BB96-4027-BD71-DE8110C83E26.jpeg I’ve assembled uppers with 2 Bear Creek 450 Bushmaster barrels, 16” and 18”. Both are more accurate than me. This is a pic of the 100 yard group from the 18”, with less than 50 rounds shot, and not broken in yet. Shot on left was from bore sighting, 2 on the right were over correction on scope adjustment (my fault), 10 shots in the center are good examples of how this barrel routinely shoots. 16” is around 50 FPS slower, but just as accurate.

I bought one of their 12.7x42 uppers a few weeks ago, then a couple of lower receivers. The (sale) prices were so low that I looked up BCA's reviews on the web, then reviewed my credit card agreement before ordering.

Ordered Friday, arrived Tuesday by plain old UPS Ground, doesn't get much better than that. Everything looks fine to me; sharp smooth bore, smooth chamber accepts my .50 Beowulf reloads and the bolt closes on and extracts loaded rounds OK.

I won't be able to get it to the range until after the New Year, though.

Unless something bad turns up at the range, I'm 100% happy with my purchase from BCA.

I've found this to be a interesting thread, other than the occasional flogging of a dead horse. I have to admit to some trepidation before I ordered the 458 socom upper a few months ago, internet searches were either love em or their big pos. For the money I decided to take the chance, I'm glad I did. I liked it so much I just bought a 12.7x42 side charger, took it out yesterday with just a cheap red dot and some handloads I threw together. Wow, I'm very happy. Can't wait to scope it and work up some handloads and see if I can improve on it. Rereading the thread, it seems the positives vastly out weigh the negatives, I hope anyone who had a negative experience will post and if bca took care of them, that being customer service is just as important as a good shooting gun. So I'm very happy with both guns, gonna try to wear them out if I can.

My cousin had a BCA 6.5 Grendel barrel that wouldn’t group under 2” with several different kinds of factory ammo. He called BCA and got a return label. New barrel arrived in a few days, and it shoots extremely well.

I purchased my .50 Beowulf upper from KM Tactical and built my 350 gr Hornady XTP reloads for it. My buddy picked up a BCA upper a couple of weeks ago and there no noticeable difference in quality with the exception of an improperly installed dust cover spring. It shoots my reloads just fine with good accuracy.

You obviously don't understand AR15 barrels where accuracy is concerned. A quality AR 15 barrel does not do this,

That's not my opinion, that's a fact. There can be some variation after 3-4 rounds, but it's certainly not going to be "all over the place", it'll be a variation that would be unnoticeable by all but the very best shooters.

Go to the one you want on their website and click learn more, on the bottom of that is a subscribe to update, type in your e-mail and they will notify you when it's back in stock, a couple of days to a week, supply and demand. I didn't watch my e-mail and they were out of stock by the time I ordered. A week later they were back in stock and my order went through. According to a article I read, black Friday was almost a record for background checks, according to the fbi.

I received the glock barrel mentioned in this thread earlier. Looks good. Has some scratches but given the price no complaints at all.

Will be a while before I can see how it shoots. Too many projects right now, dont even have the G17 put together to use this in yet.

Tried installing this today.

Not sure if its the hood being too long or something else over spec. Doesn't drop in or lock up.

I really dont want to have to do fitting on something that clearly says drop in on the description. Have made contact to see what they say...
