Looking for a first auto. No polymer stuff. Large cap would be ideal. Rail for a light a must. Reliability a must. Ranch carry and bedside duty. 9mm because cheap ammo, no reloading, and I plan on shooting the gun often. Weight no issue. Don't mind spending real money on the gun but don't want a gun with crazy magazine prices. Ain't bought a gun in many moons so I will spend some money on the right one. So far I've looked at:
Cz75 sp-01 tactical, cz75 shadow 2, Sig Legion, RIA 1911 tac models, Taurus 1911, Beretta M9/Taurus PT92. Not sure what else I ought to consider. EAA has a bunch of models. I haven't browsed them all. Everytime I've touched a cz I liked it. The Taurus is $429 at academy and has good feedback, I could just buy cases of ammo.and a stack of mags. Never seen the legion in person. Cz shadow will get me in trouble at home at 1200 bucks but it looks worth risking a divorce. The RIA tac stuff looks good but is it reliable out of the box? I don't want to fool with anything with indeterminate break-ins, just unbox and shoot.
I come from a revolver world so I dont have a single action/double action or striker fired preferences. I just want steel, rail, a decent trigger, reliability, and as many 9mms as I can fit in the mag.
