Range bag dump

Wax the exterior of your fancy or not so fancy guns and fingerprints won't be a problem, Just wipe them off with a soft rag but they won't cause corrosion if you don't. I apply wax about every six months. We don't have concrete benches but our wood benches are old, warped, and rough wood. I carry a small throw rug that I spread on one side of the bench. I have no access to an indoor range but I can back up to within 6 or 7 feet of my club rifle range so I carry a lot of "I might need it" stuff in multiple bags and a dedicated tool box in the back of my vehicle.

... especially when wearing the colors of the Archon Katrina Steiner of the Federated Commonwealth.

Prince Davion wasn't much better in the long run. Sibling rivalries and all.
As far as targets, I started ordering them from Midway recently. Finally ran out of my stock of Shoot N See targets. Now I get the cheap pack of BC27 targets. Much easier to pack compared to high-vis targets. When range bag space is at a premium, rolling up a stack of targets and a rubber band is as easy as it gets.

Thanks for the reminder to restock range bag. Bits and pieces wander away, and trash needs removing. Usually think of it when I'm headed out the door or at the range, too late. Ditto on the trauma kit, torx bits and soft surface for the bench!

When I read "dope card" for second I thought you meant something else. The term "green card" has gotten confusing as well living in a medical marijuana state...

In my range bag is ammo, expanding foam ear plugs, ear muffs, eye protection, shooting gloves, a gun smithing screwdriver set, micro fiber cloth, rem oil, and a cleaning rod, and small mallet. I don't clean or disassemble them at the range unless something malfunctions, but have found those items invaluable in the field on more than one occasion. It sucks when a firearm is rendered inoperable on a range trip and all you need is a simple tool to fix it but don't have it. I always have other tools in my truck for work as well that come in handy from time to time.

i have two, depending on what i'm doing. for pistols and carbines, i have a https://lapolicegear.com/lapg-opera...6yoToLtJBRBEFUzhlnCxqFm05cWskdrQaAm43EALw_wcB bag that they sent as a "free" gift when i bought a bunch of other crap. surprisingly, it's lasted more than ten years carrying a lot of weight and still looks practically new. very impressed (might not be the exact one in the link as they may have changed since i got mine). it contains two 30cal ammo cans (one full of pistol, and the other either 556 or 300blk), plus ear pro, some paper targets, a small cardboard box for spent brass, and zippered pockets in the lid for pasters, shot timer, and some misc spare parts. it's a total mess

the other one i an eberlestock lodrag backpack which i use for precision rifle because i often walk a long way to shoot rifles. in the bottom, it has a borka tool kit with torque wrench like the one pictured, except mine is in a red metal case, and i added some other tools including a folding cleaning rod for emergencies

a shemagh, which is invaluable, knee pads, medical kit (mostly blowout with a bit of sunscreen/bugspray etc). in the top, it has ammo, admin kit (sharpies, note cards, velcro, lamination, zip ties, grease pencils, and my custom wrist coach cards, etc), bipod extensions, plus room for hydration bladders. it has a scabbard for carrying a rifle, but usually i put rain or cold weather gear in the scabbard and just throw the rifle over my shoulder.
on the outside, i have pouches for laser range finders, kestrel, eye pro, and mini cyalume sticks. at one point, it looked like this, but i removed the pouch for the water bottle and suppressor.

so it looks more like this (from the top, laying down)

Victor has always come up short. He was liability during the FedCom Civil War. The Davionistas haven't had good leadership since Hanse & Melissa.

I'm always packing & repacking my shooting bags according to what I plan to shoot & what I shot last time, plus a box of AR parts. If someone needs a spring or pin to fix their AR, I can provide it for a nominal fee.

I have one for pistol, one for rifle, one for shotguns and one for black powder, I do keep a spring/pin kit for ARs in the rifle one and windex and ballistol for black powder, besides that nothing special that hasn't already been mentioned, and I also will be getting first aid kits

I have much of my shooting gear, accessories and ammunition stored in different containers. As I only live five miles from my shooting range it is easy for me to pack light. Also when I go to the range I usually only shoot the same type of guns such as 9mm pistols or rifle such as a AR-15.

My range bag is packed pretty light with just basic general items;

Empty cases go into a small, old pack;

I keep extra magazines in carrying pouches from MidwayUSA and ammo cans. I load the magazines before going to the range as it reduces the need for ammo containers. Pouches are color code for specific guns plus I put cool Velcro patches on the front flap;

The usual stuff targets, stickers, ammo, tools staples, stapler, muffs, extra ear plugs for friends that have no ear protection, and flashlight.
Oh yeah, the toilet paper is for when I hit the X ring.
Uhhhhhh, that could be taken a couple different ways, I guess.......:what:

Where I shoot, the SUV is about 20' away.
The two first aid kits, tools, "prayer rug", lead sled, bottled water and all of the rest of the necessities stay off of the firing bench unless needed.
My range requires all guns to be cased or holstered unless the shooter is on the line, so the cases and such take up too much space as it is.

Okay! I’ll admit it! Sometimes I am so lazy I stand we’re my cases land into the back of my truck!:)

You guys make me look bad...

There we go! That’s more like it! All mine have to be cased, but yeah, just like that. With juice boxes!:D

@NIGHTLORD40K was that a Mech Warrior target in there? LOL

My range bag consists of:
Ear/eye pro (plugs and muffs)
tourniquet + medkit
Shot timer
pens
business cards
sharpy
hat
ETA: I found a leatherman in there too LOL

After that I add what I am shooting that day
ammo
holster
mag carrier
mags
gun

I have to admit there is always a couple of P226 mags and a few AR mags in there.

Usually at least one box of range 9mm ammo, too.

I have had several different shooting bags for my shotgun sports for many years, but since most of my pistol and rifle shooting is done here on the farm, I never had to have a real range bag.
I recently took a combat pistol class and needed a range bag for my necessary gear. Being frugal (cheapskate), I requisitioned an old UnderArmour backpack that one of my kids had used for school. I liked all the secondary pockets and the big primary compartment. The shoe bag part would have been ideal for brass, but we didnt keep it.

Shooting glasses
Earphones
Extra ear plugs
Stapler, staples
10x42 binos
Pistol/mag case
Water bottle(since I had a pocket for it)
250rds ammo
Leatherman in my pocket lately.

The bp range box is a whole other paragraph!
