I already posted on this subject. I am a shooter. Have a good supply of 9mm that I stocked away for years. But I will not pay any of the high prices now. I will shoot only 22.cal on weekly range days while using 9mm very sparingly in order to retain familiarity with them. I have been buying thousands of rounds of 22.cal in the past few months. I do not see this sport ever being the same again. Once I use us x amount of 9mm, I will put a complete halt to using any more.
I've been all ate up by .22 long range and precision shooting, which I just got into this summer, so my centerfire and shotgun ammo stocks haven't been dented much lately.
Re .22lr, it's still out there, but even the target and match grade stuff, which I've been running through my CZ 457, has gotten thin on the market.
The other day I checked what was available on Killough Shooting Sports, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eley, and even they have had some whammy put on 'em. I think non-match shooters are even starting to go to buy target/match grade stuff just to have some ammo. I've noticed stuff like Lapua Center-X, SK Rifle Match, RWS's offerings, etc, are spotty all over the country when it comes to the national ammo houses.
People are doing a serious freakout, IMO.
I've a modest stock of 9mm range ammo, maybe 5,000 rounds, and honestly I'm letting it sit. Just getting in some practice with my .22lr handguns and my .38 wheelguns. It will have to do for now.
