For me, Covid has meant needing a distraction from kids stuck at home and working from home. Has anyone else taken up a hobby?

I made these grips for a .45lc I inherited years ago.

My buddy just finished this wrap and sling for my Win. Model 94ae in .45lc. He’s taken up holster making. Cost me a six-pack. This was his first attempt. I’m pretty happy with it. This one will come out on a few deer hunts with me this year.

Not a new hobby, but my wife and I did more fishing this past summer than we probably did in the last 10 years. We even went with friends a few times - took separate vehicles and stayed 10 feet apart on the bank.
Gun related: I was carrying my "kit gun" - my old Model 63 Smith.;)

I'm with you. My 5-year-old son and I have fished more this year than I have in the past 10. He loves fishing, has gotten pretty good at catching bass up on our hunting property. He's taken pretty well to shooting the .22 (Win 67) also, can land all shots on a 8" plate at 25 yards. I've never been too good a fishing, but once he started catching on I've really started enjoying it. Keep fishing on, and good luck to you both!

Model 63's a fun little gun to carry.

I reloaded everything to to point of component limits. No more powder for 7mm, no empty cases for 30-30, etc.

I’ve done two trigger jobs. The trigger job on my S&W 586 turned out so good it is now the best trigger I have, supplanting a Colt Officers Model. Maybe I should moonlight as a trigger job guy?

I shot a TON of round ball out of percussion rifles. Since the end of June I have mostly just worked like a dog.

Funny, though. I already have a ton of hobbies, so picking up more really wasn't a thing.

Reloading, and stalking reloading components, especially the wily Boxer primers.

Seriously, I took the plunge to start reloading because I own and enjoy rifles chambered for several European cartridges that US factory ammunition conforming to SAAMI standards is well short of the potential of those cartridges laded to conform to CIP standards, with few options imported to the USA. Then saw availability of factory loaded ammunition period becoming less available in the USA rapidly shrinking broadening my reloading horizons.

Lots of weird stuff.
Designing a hilt for a small copper knife and a handle for a Scythian bound iron ax, both about 2,500 years old.
Building posts for solar lamps using sand and plexi tubes.
Participating in a spelling bee for literacy (I came in second).
Building hidden gun storage sites.
Learning to powder coat lead soldiers.
Dang, but I'm bored.

Nicely done, by both you and your friend.

I haven't done anything crafty with my Covid time. I focused work for a while, then put more time into gardening, home improvement, and fitness. I also found out that I loved my wife as much as I suspected I did when we started working from home together!

Ammo is scarce, but I really don't miss it. I've gotten back into archery and slingshots. Recently rediscovered axe throwing at a local venue and set up a throwing lane in my yard. Cheap fun, and I dare say, im way more talented at throwing than shooting;)

My goal was to have minimal disruption to my life due to the virus and I have been quite successful ,so no new "covid hobbies".
Didn't play enough golf , but that was not due to restrictions , rather my own time management.
Plenty of range time including a round of steel plate competition earlier this week.

Life is for living.

I learned how to cast and powdercoat bullets. I guess it would be more of an extension to my gun/reloading hobby.

I have been considering reloading for a year now, bought a couple books but drug my feet on buying components. Now I wish I had, especially for the .45lc and for .303brit. My SMLE is not getting as much time as I would like.

I’ve been eyeballing a 4” 586 for a while now. I’m envious! Send a few down range for me.

I really like those grips, you did a great job. As far as new hobbies, I've picked up antique tool restoration and cross-cut saw sharpening. Sounds like fun, I know. But a man's gotta keep busy.

I discovered that there are discussion forums specific to firearms and gun rights on this internet thingy ... Who knew? Yeah, I've been spending way too much time on the gun boards.

On a serious note, I'm getting back into backyard archery and airgun plinking.

Plus, the new hobby of ticking the spousal unit off mightily whenever she sees the credit card statements; apparently, during this pandemic I've spent far too much time on the computer ... ordering firearms accessories from Midway, Brownells, TGS, etc., and cool tactical (yeah, I'm using that term, deal with it) stuff that catches my eye from Galls, GovX, Midway ...
