Before yesterday, I hadn't been inside our Academy since September.
Yesterday, at 3:00 PM, approx. 1,000-1,200 rds. of Monarch 7.62x39 was there. Weird: maybe the flippers are Saturated with ammo, waiting for bidders to meet their secret reserve prices?
Most of this was lacquer-coated, which often scares the gullible. Luckily their unfounded paranoia seems to have paid off.
Bought my 2 - box limit = 200 rds. I've used about 15% of my total reserve in the last year.
Plenty of .380 was there, but I saw zero 9x19, nor any other semi-auto handgun or rifle ammo.
My only hypothesis was that deliveries of 7.62x39 and .380 - to a single, specific Academy store - had been much larger than normal.
Didn't even think to look at .22LR. No idea about that, but almost zero chance that any was still there at 3:00.
