Think the 147 eldm ammo is 2.950 with my chamber that is about .025 off.
That's consistent with what I've seen. Either way, not a problem getting bullets to touch the lands with the 6.5 PRC S20.

Sounds like they definitely got the mag right as well, certainly another point they thought through in knowing their audience. Man I’m wanting to spend money now!
300 PRC is where it’s at these days
The only reason that I wouldn't buy an S20 in .300 WM is that I already have an excellent Tikka T3 TAC in .300 WM that is very accurate and functions perfectly. Other than the thumb hole stock, I don't know that I'd consider the S20 a significant upgrade over the Tikka.
There’s a very good reason in my mind for you to make that purchase; I like to call it “photographic symmetry”. Twins are always fun to look at
Well, I could no longer hold out, I bought an S-20 Hunter in 6.5 PRC a couple of days ago. Besides playing with it out if the box, adjusting the trigger and cleaning bore I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet.
I mounted a VX /6 2x12 I am excited to shoot it. My only concern is still the weight. It’s heavy.
That's awesome ... congratulations! It is on the heavy side but I've hunted with much heavier. Once you shoot it I think you'll be very impressed. I was astounded by the 5-shot group mine produced with factory Hornady ammunition and how easy it is to connect with 11"x11" steel targets out to 700 yards and I'm talking cold/clean bore shots. Did you submit the paperwork for the free Precision stock? 7-round magazines are available on Eurooptic.com.
A friend just ordered the 7mm Rem Mag Hunter (he shot my 6.5 PRC months ago and loved it) and due to a Cabela's screw up got $400 off the rifle and will probably get the free stock too! Some guys have all the luck.
I'm interested in the 6.5 PRC as a general deer/elk/sheep rifle. The 127gr LRX might be a great choice for those of us that only hunt with copper bullets.

Sps has blem. Nosler 6.5 prc brass for like $55-50 or something. I have 50 they seem ok, very similar to hornady in weight and volume. Haven't shot any yet to see how hard they are. If I had powder and primers I'd probably buy a hundred or more.
First day at the range with the new S20 in 6.5 PRC. The load is 52.5 Gr of Re22 behind a 140 Gr Nosler Accubond. OAl 2.797”. I’m at the lans at 2.850” it liked this length the best so far. Longer OAL was a bit less tight to group.
MV 2820” and I’m 1.5 Gr under book max with Re22. Unfortunately 22 is the only powder I’ve currently got that’s listed in the Nosler book for the 6.5 PRC. It’s not one of the faster powders,
4 round group.

I'll get 2-3 shots on my hornady brass before pockets open way up. My brass is the softest I've ever seen even starting loads leave heavy ejector marks, can't get a good picture to show loonwulf may have one tho. I haven't tried Any other brass or ammo so don't know if it's just this lot on brass i have.I have hundreds of pieces of Hornady brass that was free so I'm not going to invest in better brass at the moment. I have a nice AMP annealer so hopefully the primer pockets hold up long enough to be useful.

That sucks, shame since it really is a nice cartridge. I'll see how this nosler is, I know if I buy more it will end up being crap or if I don't it will be great then then I won't be able to get more lol. It seems companies that make ammo and brass are making the brass now very soft, they probably make more on ammo and if you have to buy more brass every few shots you may just buy ammo and not reload.Well then I must have gotten numerous bad lots of soft brass from them as well. Seems like a consistent characteristic of Hornady brass.
@H&Hhunter, with that sort of performance I bet you're not unhappy with the purchase! What are your general impressions?
The S20 is the finest factory rifle I’ve ever owned! In fact it might well be the most accurate rifle I own. What an incredible gun for the money! I think I need one in .300 now. But I’ll wait to see if they do a .300 PRC and in a lighter maybe a carbon version.
