I’ll apologize to those here who deserve it right now, as I wonder out loud if this is a prime example of “Military Intelligence”?

He knows an AK because he’s been shot at by one?
Okay.
I guess my eleven year old son is a S.E.A.L. then, because he can smoke your retired butt on Call Of Duty.o_O
Colonels are experts, in doing what they’re told…
Even if it’s lie to the people.

“a single round is capable of severing the upper body from lower body…”

What a complete moronic clown. This boy opening his mouth is entirely disappointing and completely disheartening to any citizen with a neuron.
Alas, since he is retired, he won’t get to be corrected when he gets back to base.
One could hope his wife has the brains of the house. It surely isn’t him…

One of the ranges I used to shoot at had the same Ken working for them.

He was such an expert that they banned 50's at the range. He was such the expert because he served in the military.

So did I, but I don't go around with pants on my head, telling everyone that a 50 BMG ricochet, could hit a Hwy miles away!

Some of the things that come out of experts mouths! I would like to know how these "experts" get their credentials. Sometimes I think "crackerjack box" sums it up.

He gave his " opinion" and that is the same as HERESAY in any court of law.

So guess his "opinions" are worth more,or less than ANY OTHERS.

^^^Truth. Just like any other opinion. No different than the "opinions" one gets on social media forums. Many of those folks believe they too, are so called "experts".

How do you give an "opinion" under penalty of perjury? You could only say it's true that it's your opinion, you can't say it's fact.

....and as long as it's stated as an opinion, there is no perjury, unless it's really not your opinion, and you have been scripted a testimony. That's the difference between an opinion and fact. Everyone has an opinion, but not everybody has the facts. Yet, so many out there believe the opinions of others as factual. They are the foolish ones, not the one giving the opinion.

IMO, the military is another once-great American institution that's been corrupted by political weaponization, globalism, and DEI, and rotting from the head for a good while now. It's been into the putrid stage for at least the past few years. And according to the multiple nephews, cousins, in-laws and acquaintances who are currently serving or recently exited, it's well down into the ranks at this point.

Just goes to show you, just because someone was in the military does not make them an expert on firearms. Also worth pointing out the "fully semi-automatic" guy was an Army general.
The. What do they teach them in the military?

Sigh, no, it is not hearsay. Hearsay is rumor or something you did not hear or witness first hand.

A subject matter expert, what they are called by the courts, is someone brought in by either the defense or prosecution for their opinion on a matter. To become a subject matter expert, at least in my judicial district, one must demonstrate a higher than average knowledge of the subject than the average person. That being said, it is not a very difficult standard to meet. I am a court recognized SME in gang tattoos. Nothing special about that, I have just studied them more than the average person. That does not make my opinion on a tattoo hearsay, it makes it my opinion. The other side is welcome to call their own SME to refute my testimony.

In NY, the side that wants to have someone considered an “expert” presents him or her to the court. Then they give their credentials as to why they should be considered an expert.

The court then decides if they meet that standard. Once a person is accepted as an expert in one court, they pretty much are accepted as such in all courts in NY.

As mentioned, they are paid witnesses, and shockingly enough, often come to the conclusion that the side paying desires. Then one for the other side comes in with a totally different conclusion.

There are handwriting experts, ballistic experts, etc. I once heard a ballistic expert who was so off even the Court rolled their eyes.

Exactly. Through the Voir Dire process a witness’ expertise is placed before the Court. After reading any provided Curriculum Vitae and hearing the witness’ qualifications, the Judge rules whether or not the witness meets the standard of expertise and is allowed, or refused, to testify on the facts and provide an expert opinion on what they think about them.

An expert doesn’t need to be John Browning or Eugene Stoner to qualify as an expert, but one must demonstrate to the Court knowledge, experience and expertise on a subject beyond the realm of the average person. :)

Stay safe.

Not exactly a glowing endorsement that an O5 at the Regimental level wound up in pistol-shot range of bad people.

A Regiment consists of several Battalions. Around 16 to 22 Companies; at least 2 if not 4-6 subordinate Commanders, before getting to Company level.
Each company having from 50-60 to 150-200 generally-armed troops per each.

In short, a Regimental commander is supposed to have 400-800 people whose job it is to keep enemy forces at, at least rifle range away from the Regimental Lines. So, the Commanding Officer winding up 50 meters from bad guys, suggests things that are less than ideal.

All wi-fi youtube content blocked by the IT security provider where I was this morning. Employees can't use cell phones there, but service techs can. I wasn't on the clock yet when I was scanning THR on my phone's wi-fi..
Bummer.

Although I can see why they would do that. Being that so far I've never heard of a machine being compromised as a result of watching a youtube video, I'd say it's not actually about security, more likely an attempt to keep employees from goofing off during work hours.

Or he was lying.
