I was given a holster as a Chistmas gift by my late father. It's a black basket weave well put together holster. It's open top so no thumb break and it has a belt tunnel no loops. The tunnel is marked TR '92. The bottom is marked cz 99 which I assume is the intended pistol it was made for. My dad gave it to me for a Sig p220 that I had at the time. I no longer have that p220, but I do have the holster. I'm have tried to find them on line and have come up with several magazine articles about his holsters however nothing as for value. I know my dad found it on ebay and won the auction for $20.00. Any information on the beautiful piece of leather would be appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I hope you and yours a safe and Merry Christmas and happy New Year. 20231222_022015.jpg 20231222_022029.jpg

Thank you great article. Can you tell me if he is still alive and is he still taking orders?
I believe he is still in business and taking orders.

I think Milt Sparks, fairly recently, has had a handful of Rybka holsters for sale. I just checked, they are gone now, but if you can't find a point of contact on your own, Milt Sparks may be able to give you one.

I read on a forum that Mr. Rybka had retired. Nevertheless, I wrote a letter to him this past Spring, asking him about this. He sent a letter in reply consisting solely of an order form. I completed the form, requesting a Rhodesian holster and magazine carrier for a 1911 Gov't., and Mrs. X62503 wrote a check for the total. I received the set about a month later, and was ecstatic.

I will send him a letter on tuesday thank you

Thad Rybka’s holsters are so very good, that if one happens to come into possession of such a holster, the next proper action is to buy a gun to fit it. ;)

Enjoy!Actually that was the plan. I got rid of the p220 that it was intended for but couldn't bring myself to part with the holster. I'm not sure I want another p220. But it does give a good reason to go browsing.

I actually had a friend in San Diego who'd picked up one of the CZ-99s. Mostly a SIG P-226 design, but a bit of Walther P-88 injected into it. So a P-220 would definitely be a decent fit.

Thad Rybka was a sought-after holster maker in the '90s. OP's holster looks to be very nicely executed basketweave, as well as in excellent condition.

Yeah, buy a pistol to go with it!

Yes the p220 fit very well.

pictures?

Some of us have spent quite some time trying to get the TR Rhodesian just right; it's a deceptively 'simple' design that's harder to build than it looks like it would be. TR is a genuine master.
