Samson has been making the reproduction folding stock under a license from Ruger for several years now. If you buy a Mini-14 Tactical at current prices and add the Samson stock, the cost would be similar to the advertised price on that special. But you could get the stock for a Mini 30.
Besides the Samson stock, that model also has the front sight with a bayonet lug.
James Reeves put a Samson folding stock on his Mini and has a video about it. He also took the same Mini to Thunder Ranch and you can watch Clint Smith express his opinions on it (generally positive).
Also, you can get a front rail that replaces the factory plastic handguard also from Samson. I know Samson wasn't the first to offer such a thing, but their version is pretty decent. James also reviews this.
The stock is not painful. It is heavy. The folding part is steel. The Mini-14 Tactical in 5.56 NATO with polymer stock and Hannibal rail is 7 pounds. With the Samson folding stock and Hannibal rail, it is 8.2 pounds. Those are the results of me weighing them (not just spec sheets).
