Simply? No.

Since they are the same case head diameter and slide breechface size, you might be able to go from .40 to .357 SIG with a barrel swap. If you want to convert from .40 to 9mm Luger, you have to get an aftermarket conversion barrel, and, of course, 9mm magazines.

My understanding is that you have to have a 9mm to .40 or .357 to .40 conversion barrels, and possibly change ejector for the 9mm. The .357 sig can be used in the glock 23 magazines, but you need a 19 magazine for the 9mm.

I haven't done any of this, but I've been doing some research because I'm looking to do the same thing.

Get a G20 or G29 and with LWD barrels you can shoot 10mm, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, and 9X25.

Since conversion barrels are CHEAPER than stock Glock barrels, this isn't an issue.

Glock 40 and .357 interchange, directly.

Glock 40/.357 can take a conversion barrel to shoot 9mm.

You do not need to change extractors or ejectors when you do the conversion. The cases eject more randomly. But the stock 9mm's eject rather randomly, too, IME. And there is absolutely no significant difference between the LCI 40 and LCI 9mm extractors. If anything, the 9mm LCI extractor is a bit looser. Changing the ejector would improve the ejection pattern a little, but it isn't going to be worth the effort, IMO.

Actually, it isn't worth the effort to convert the barrel even. I'd much rather have a G19 and a G23. And skip the .357 altogether. For the cost of 2 aftermarket barrels and mags, you are more than halfway there.

Is my thread on the same subject. Bottom line is that there are some barrels that will do what you are describing, but since the 9mm barrel is smaller in diameter than the 40 you can't use a standard 9mm barrel. Unfortunately I have 3 standard land and groove, standard diameter barrels that I acquired. Anyone need them? Good for practicing with cast ammo.

With a G23 you can use a G32 barrel and magazines. If you want to shoot 9mm you must use an aftermarket .40-9mm conversion barrel made specifically for a G23 and Glock 9mm magazines. The Glock-made 9mm barrel has slightly smaller outer dimensions, the 40-9mm conversion barrel has the same outer dimensions as a .40 barrel. Within the same size Glock, .40 and .357SIG barrels have identical outer dimensions.

For a G23 to shoot
.357SIG: G32 barrel made by Glock or an aftermarket company, G23 magazines will work with .357SIG but you should get G32 magazines if you plan to use it for self-defense.
9mm: aftermarket .40-9mm conversion barrel made specifically for a G23 and Glock 9mm magazines. I don't recommend using this for self-defense, just for target practice.
.22LR: Upper assembly and magazines made by various manufacturers, Advantage Arms is probably the most well known. Practically though, most of these kits cost ~$300 so you might as well just buy a separate .22 pistol.

I'm running conversion barrels in my Glock 27 and an M&P 40 Pro. The Glock conversion barrel is a Lone Wolf. It has been completely reliable with just the barrel & 9mm mags. The M&P conversion is a Storm Lake barrel. I did have two failures to eject in the first mag, but I was using reloads that a friend came across. It hasn't happened since.

I also have the 357sig barrels (they can be 357sig oem barrels or aftermarket conversion barrels) for both guns. You use the 40s&w mags since the 357sig casing is the same diameter as the 40s&w, just bottlenecked down. I love shooting the 357sig round. For $100-150 more you can reliably shoot 357sig. That is worth messing with in my opinion.

I figured I would bring my own concerns here instead of starting a similar thread. We are discussing conversion barrels here. it doesnt seem we are considering getting the whole 'upper' that fits. Like say I have a glock 20, if I bought a g17 slide/barrel assembly and got the extractor for 9mm I could then shoot 9mm through the glock 20 frame right? As I hear it 45 acp is done this way same as 50 gi and 22 lr. I have even read about 9 dillon, 38 super, and 7.62x25 conversion barrels that fit in a differrent models slide; said slide is then used on the g20 frame. If I am not crazy here, it seems you can turn that model into any caliber offered, including specialty calibers. Or atleast this is how it has been presented to me.

My understanding is that the 10mm and 45 use a larger frame than the 9, 40, and 357, so you can not interchange slides of different frame sizes
