Only paint the front sight, I think...
RobinKevin, if I could put little "dots" of paint on my rear sights, I would have. But anyone who checked out my video can see that my paint control isn't that precise!
My gut is that with the fixed iron sights on my revolver, only the paint on the front ramp will really help. And I think that's conventional wisdom on this topic.
This picture doesn't adequately show how the newly painted front ramp fills the space within the rear sight "notch" (must be a camera thing), but I think you can still get what I'm trying to say:
