Recall campaign in Colorado

Well done! You Coloradoans proved to the rest of the world that Freedom is still alive and well! Glad to see enough people in those districts realize the juice is worth the squeeze. :)

To those initial organizers of the recall, congratulations on a fight well fought.

Organizing the recalls was the first step, getting the signatures for them was the second, this third step of throwing these two out of the CO Senate gives even more momentum to the people of Colorado telling their elected officials that they're job is to represent the people of Colorado and not the power brokers in New York, Chicago, or Washington.

Congratulations Coloradans and keep up the pressure!
Keep in mind these were organized and performed by pissed off constituents. It was only after the big money started flowing for defense that NRA & RMGO got involved. The big groups helped counter Bloomberg & others but it is really thanks to a couple people in each district that this happened.

Now get rid of Dianna DeGette, Evie Hudak, and Rhonda Fields! They are all Bloomberg puppits.

Battle won, the war is far from over! Make elections in 14/16 count. A sincere thanks to ALL that have worked hard on this!

I asked a friend in the Springs how it was going and he said it looked like the end for Morse but that Giron might make it.
I was worried about that race because of Pueblo's political leanings. I was pleasantly surprised when I got word on how the numbers flipped and continued to get worse for her.
A loss like hers will carry more meaning than that of Morse's. Good on you folks on the front range especially those in Pueblo.

OUTSTANDING! Let it spread to other troubled states! I am very proud for America today!

Maybe Gov. Huffenpuffer should have sent state police to the polls to stand around with their hands on their guns and "explain" to people how they should vote. It worked in Maryland.

Colorado Recall Results 2013

Ballot Issue State Senate 3 - Recall Giron
100% reporting
Yes 56.0% (19,355)
No 43.9% (15,201)

Ballot Issue State Senate 11 - Recall Morse
100% reporting
Yes 50.9% (9,094)
No 49.0% (8,751)

Certainly a cause for celebration! Congratulations, Colorado!

However, might I point out the following with respect to comments akin to "the people have spoken":

ONLY those who actually got off their duffs and VOTED have "spoken". And though Giron lost by a respectable margin of 12%, neither of these was anything approaching a "landslide victory".

This means that quite a bit of "the people" STILL voted to keep these nitwits in office and quite a bit of voting eligible people STILL DID NOT VOTE.

This battle has been won...however, don't lose sight of the war in the celebration.

Again...congratulations!

:)

As much as I might wish it were otherwise, the POTUS cannot be recalled. However they can be impeached by Congress.

Also it is highly unlikely that politician’s who represent districts where the residents overwhelmingly support liberal/progressivism are going to recall any legislator whose views match theirs. San Francisco, CA is a good example.

In other words a recall will only work in certain circumstances.

It's enough to get them sweating bullets and every dime they spend during a recall campaign is money they can't spend during the next election (yes I know they're all rich).

The fact that Morse changed the rules and suppressed testimony by local citizens and law enforcement, but let out of state gun grabbers speak is also part of why he got recalled. This isn't just about poorly written, oppressive, unenforceable and ineffective gun laws.

He of course, refuses to admit this. He will just blame the gun lobby and the media will assist him in this assertion. There are other issues as well (see why the northern Colorado rural counties wish to create their own state).

Colorado El Paso County Sheriff Maketa (who happened to be on the front page of Americas First Freedom last month) has some things to say about these tactics by Morse. I suspect Giron was just a useful idiot for the gun grabbers and probably didnt actually have an original thought on the matter. I didnt pay much attention to her, so I cant really say.

why no news?

Before election headlines:
o Colorado recall a proxy in national gun control debate - CNN
o Early turnout strong in Colorado recall effort on gun-control... -FoxNews
o Colorado voters test power of gun lobby in recall elections ... -Reuters
o Colorado lawmakers who backed tougher gun-control laws face recall - Washington Post
o Colorado recall under way: Will it send a message on gun control? - Christian Science Monitor
o MILLER: Colorado recall election a call to arms against Obama - Washington Times
o Outside money shows national interest in Colorado recall - Denver Post

IF the recalls had FAILED it would have been imminently newsworthy to the MSM. Successful recalls have to be buried. Don't worry, they are working feverishly on a spin for the evening news and late night talk shows.

Already one whiner on FaceBook crying that the numbers change in Pueblo were unfair and a recount needs to be done right now!

What I'd REALLY like to see now is a successful grass roots movement to recall Bloomers.

Congratulations, Colorado! Now if only we can be proactive about not letting these clownshoes win the office in the first place...Hope your next step is repealing those laws, successfully.

Credit where credit is due. I don't think we could have done it without a candidate like George Rivera. He's well liked and respected by the whole community.

The message to Bloomberg is: "You can buy our politicians, but they won't remain in office if you do".

What bothers me is the left are screaming those old dem catch words "voter suppresion" due to the non mail in ballots.
Any chance they can challenge this recall due to that??

We won a battle but the fight is still on, as the damage has been done. Magpul is gone, we still have to pay a (for now) $10 background check, private transfers are still illegal and magazines are limited to fifteen rounds. For those that were not here, the campaigns that were waged to defend these two tyrants was shameful. At first John Morse ran ads saying that those collecting signatures for the recall effort were temporary paid workers, ex-criminals, sex offenders and ID theft scam artists. Then they shifted to how the only reason your children were safe at school every day was because John Morse was in the state senate. They then described the recall backers as "extremists from Denver" and toward the end used the war on woman's reproductive rights angle. Bloomberg's money flooded the airwaves with this drivel. A local college held a rally with food and music to register students to vote and produced 1700 votes for Morse. Morse lost by less than 400 votes. The real surprise was the lady in Pueblo, a very Democrat city, who was soundly defeated.

I tip my hat to you all. You gave the rest of the nation an example to follow in holding elected officials accountable.
