What is the difference between a Savage 110 and the 111?

Are there heavy / target barrels available for one or both?

I heard a guy talking about his Savage 110 that he built into a "Sniper's rifle"

I chose the Savage 110/111 as a starting base for a long range rifle because with my budget It seems to be the better of the lot. The axis, 710 and the mossberg all feel cheap and I can't remember which but one even had plastic internals:what:

if you guys had $400 which rifle would you choose to build a long range / sniper's rifle?

and by build a long range / sniper's rifle, I simply mean a good optic and a bipod with a quickie Woodland scheme camo paint job. I'm not going to invest too much because if My budget allowed a super build, I would just grab myself this sexy mama..........

The 110 and 111 (and Stevens 200) are the same action with different stock/barrel options. Savages are a great choice for a budget precision rifle build. Their design usually leads to an accurate rifle right out of the box (to be fair, most bolt action rifles from any mfg are just as accurate these days). There are lots of choices for aftermarket stocks, triggers, etc, and the barrels are very easy to change if desired.
