For anybody who hasn't recently checked the bill status, it has gained many new sponsors. Would this be a good time for their constituents to say thank you?
I don't believe you can hunt in a national park so a game warden wouldn't be a problem in about 40% of the trail. As for the other 60% I have no clue. Also, having backpacked in the past myself I have a feeling that a long gun would throw off the balance of your pack and make it a pain to carry...
This would also ban the "broomhandle" mauser if I'm not mistaken. I don't know where she got the idea that banning barrel shrouds will reduce violence. What it will do however, is leave gun owners with burnt hands.
Do any states require the handgun owner to have experience with their weapon? i.e. Explain all of the parts and their function to the instructor. Maybe even demonstrate "tap, rack, boom" or other malfunction clearing procedures.
What exactly are you referring to? The safety course? Also it would be nice to hear from someone out of state on whether or not you learned anything valuable while attending the safety course if your state requires that.

I'm sorry I love my 10/22 it even has a custom collapseable stock and foregrip but if I needed to put someone out of commision in a light easy to carry rifle I'd use a Marlin camp 9mm or a semiauto sterling
